Have they ever actually shown Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory on here? My guess is yes. Probably like once or twice or something.
According to MovieCollector's invaluable list, it's been shown 3 times, the last in 2004. Time for another showing. Gene Wilder demonstrates how a brilliant performance can save an otherwise wretched movie. And there is a fine song that has become a standard. No, not that one, it's called "Pure Imagination."

BUFFETS reopened in Las Vegas. They serve the food directly to your table (to maintain social distancing). It’s received goid reviews.
Patrons seated on---tuffets?

Well, TCM shows movies from the past, why not intros and epilogues?

If it's good for a bum, it's good for a muffet.

Sigh, another human-caused extinction.

On a tuffet?

Glad to see at least one Lina Wermuller movie. She's been forgotten since her death. Like to see more.

What a refreshing change. Someone not complaining about how TCM is betraying its viewership with its programming. More power to ya.

Movies of his have been sprinkled through the schedule since January. But there has been no night of Fuller movies. Maybe they were pre-cursors of the upcoming night.

I don't think they met up with any (Abby) road kill.

Perhaps the reason we remember Claire Trevor and Johan Wayne is that their presence is greatest at the end of the movie. Starting as an ensemble movie, it narrows its focus to the two at the end, turning the movie into a story about them.

However, I've always doubted there was ANY truth to the humor he supposedly said the same thing AGAIN when supposedly being asked to replace Zero Mostel as Tevye in the film version of Fiddler on the Roof.

A well known triv-bit that until this time was invariably mentioned by all that introduced the movie.

Well, there's also Limelight (1952). But that's not a hotel.

There was no standard length to my knowledge, but the controlling factor was the length of the interview on The Tonight Show, which was determined by the show time allotted between commercials. Conan's intros are also probably the same length.

Lots of nice cars recently. The Black Stallion (1979), boasts a parade of 'em in the nighttime rainstorm ride. The best include a 1934 Lincoln KA:

A 1930 Packard Deluxe Eight:

A 1939 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 Town Car:

And from the Antiques Road Trip front, a Jaguar XJS convertible, circa 1987, and red, too:

Yum.

Some movies I find hard to understand. But I find no pattern. Old movies can just have bad sound due to the prints being second or third generation reprints. For newer movies, changes in style of pronunciation can lead to difficulty in understanding dialog.

Thanks for the heads-up!
