One of the bright lights of the French New Wave explosion/regeneration. She is best known for her work with Godard, which may lead some to conclude she was a artifact of his. But that is the result of the profile of work she did subsequent to her time with him, and the times she did it. Revolutions and their opportunities like the New Wave don't come often. But she showed continued vitality throughout her career, working with other New Wave directors, and branching out into other fields, such as producing and singing. She lived her life.

Please don't think I'm after you. Most people who post like you do I don't bother responding to, or reply with a big yawn. I can see they are being insincere, simply being provocative to goad others into reacting. They relish the conflict they inspire and feed off it emotionally. I saw in your comments that there might be a possibility of discussion instead of throwing hackneyed phrases back and forth. I was attempting to draw your attention to the similarity of what you say annoys you and what you are doing. That is, getting people to conform to your sense of correct conduct.

When someone or some people, but usually at most two, are trying to follow, or elude somebody else, or some other people, and they are moving around and are trying not to be heard, someone will step on a twig, and it will always be a dry twig and it will snap, or a step that creaks, or bump into something, or somehow otherwise make a noise, and then everyone will stop and listen, and sometimes that will lead to detection of the person or people who are following or eluding, and complications ensue, but usually the person or people being followed or eluded unaccountably think nothing of the noise and no complications ensue.

If someone is climbing, at some point their foot will slip and they will dangle by their hands, and almost fall, but not completely fall, and if they are climbing a hillside or cliff a rock will come loose under their foot from the hillside or cliff and that is what will make them dangle.

Of course, Star Wars (1977) has an astonishing opening. And I guess The Searchers (1956) is about the best. My favorite Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968):

Why is it people only start threads criticizing TCM? You'd think with all the negative threads propagating that TCM was the most loathed channel on TV. Surprising, since most people have to pay for a separate package to get it. Whenever I see threads like that, I'm reminded of the joke about two people complaining about how bad the food is at a restaurant--and how small the portions were. Hey, you don't like what's on TCM, don't buy it. You worried about TCM's future? It's been around a quarter of a century, with it's immanent demise or bastardization predicted the entire time. And what's the result? I watch other things on TV, but if it weren't for TCM, I wouldn't have a TV service.
