  1. In the 1990 remake I know the female lead lives. I struggle to remember the rest of that one however. Possible that's the one you're thinking of.
  2. Certainly one of the best. Also one of the first horror movies I saw also. I credit this and 1956's Invasion of the Body Snatchers for my lifelong love of Horror / Sci-Fi.
  3. I heard a quote once, forget the artist who said it so I can't give proper credit, but he said he likes songs from any genre of music that "makes the hair stand up on his arms". Not all songs, just certain ones. I can dig that. One look at my iTunes would confirm it Edited by: lanceroten on Oct 23, 2013 4:49 PM
  4. It's great, no question. One of the first true horror movies I ever watched also.
  5. As with most genres I follow IMDB descriptions. They have Sabrina and My Man Godfrey as Comedy - Romance. Those would be 1 & 2 for me. Though I may not consider Sabrina a romantic - comedy. Just my opinion of course. I could see My Man Godfrey as a romantic-comedy however.
  6. Hmm... I try and stick with IMDB descriptions, but, The Postman Always Rings Twice is not considered Noir by them(crime-drama-mystery). By me it is. Nora Prentiss isn't either. I'm not as sure about that one. I wanna say yeah but. Strangers on a Train I'll list as Noir. Gun Crazy, Noir, not Noir? Bad Day at Black Rock? I'll go with Bad Day at Black Rock in my 10. 1. Double Indemnity 2. The Postman Always Rings Twice (original) 3. Laura 4. Bad Day at Black Rock 5. The Big Heat (Ford/Grahame) 6. The Maltese Falcon (Bogart) 7. Strangers on a Train (Hitchnoir) 8. Scarlet Street 9. Th
  7. well, for recent films, The Beaver w/ Mel Gibson. Found it to be pretty awful.
  8. Been fortunate the last 3 weeks or so. Gotten to see each of these for the first time ever: Wells Fargo Ride The High Country The Virginian Once Upon a Time in the West The Good, the Bad and the Ugly All very, very good movies with Ride the High Country and Once Upon a Time being great IMO.
  9. In my Top Ten of westerns. Really good flick.
  10. Last Noir I saw was Panic in the Streets. Maybe my expectations were a bit high for it, but, it didn't really entertain me as I had hoped. Got a few noirs on the DVR and gonna have some time coming to watch them
  11. That's a good a point Jack about the Bruno character in Strangers on a Train. Everyman/everyday psycho. That's a really good Hitchcock movie and Robert Walker gives a career performance in that IMO.
  12. Non horror that gave me the creeps/heebie jeebies/some scares :0 ...Yeah, The Night of the Hunter comes to mind. Sinister film in many ways. I've always bounced Invasion of the Body Snatchers(original) between Sci Fi and Horror. If I call it a Sci Fi, it's a heebie jeebie fest also. I saw that at 13 yrs old late one night and that freaked me out. Johnny Got His Gun. That's an acquired taste movie. Great film IMO, but, scary. Just imagining someone could be in that position is horrifying :0 . You reach a certain age where you've seen a lot of horror films, at least in my case, where standa

    Shane

Shane. One of those movies where I say "haven't seen it yet, hope to soon". That always gets great reactions . Took me a long time to finally see High Noon also, so, not so unusual for me
  14. Beverly Hillbillies, Father Knows Best, Wild Wild West, Big Valley, I Dream of Jeannie
  15. I can watch Double Indemnity over and over. It's just a great film. There's no lag, it's well acted. It's just, sharp. Robinson, MacMurray, Stanwyk. Hard to go wrong there. And yeah, I taped it off one of the Enore channels. My Encore channels package isn't too expensive. It's bundled with IFC(which is junk nowdays) and the Fox Movie Channel(which is still OK about 8 hours of the day), Fearnet, Fox Movie on demand and something called Vutopia/movie pass. For a guy like myself who considers movie watching his number one hobby these days, it's perfect
