You are 100% correct. She was a tremendous talent and even i didn't realize that it has been back to 1975 since she last appeared in a movie. How time flies. I have posted on her forums on facebook and the like that although she chooses not to receive these awards, that I am a very selfish person and i begged her to do it for her legions of fans who can once more can she her on stage and remember all the joy , happiness and love that she gaves us in those darkened theatres long ago watching her on stage and wishing the movies would never end.

There certainly were better actors. But you could no more fill John Wayne's boots then have another Cary Grant,Errol Flynn, Clark Gable,,ect ect. These and many more all have a screen persona that is no remakeable.

I can always make a cup of coffee and sit on the couch and enjoy a Doris Day movie. I think she is an underrated, under talked about, and definitely an UNREWARDED actress. She did it all in my humble opinion and was great at doing it all. Sing,Dance, comedy, drama,,u name it she did it.

One of my favorite movies with Maureen O'Hara and Tyrone Power. A John Ford classic, among his many great movies. Was just wondering if you intend to have it on the schedule,
. It has been years since i have seen in on any TV station.

Had never seen this movie before being introduced to it on TCM. Your absolutely right, it is a delighful movie and a triumph for Garbo and Douglas as well as her three sidekids in the movie.

I was telling old time friends of mine the other day, how i would sit in the movie theatre and droll while watching Rita Hayworth on the screen. How beautiful she was, maybe the prettiest of them all.
Well one friend mentioned Ava Gardner and we all said yeah. Grace Kelly got another yeah from us all. As did Janet Leigh, Kate Hepburn, Arlene Dahl, Marilyn Monroe,Jane Russel, Gene Tierney, oh yeah yeah, yeah,
The list went on, Jean Arthur, Merle Oberon, Rhonda Fleming, Claudette Colbert, Maurenn O'Hara, Susan Hayworth, Natalie Wood, lots more Yeah, Yeah, yeahs,
We decided at some point to stop listing them,,we could have gone on and on probably without end.
Who was the prettiest, i doubt there is an answer to that question. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all of them plus many more fit the bill.
How many more can u Name.
