Thanks, skipper. This one, I have not been able to confirm it with resarch; relying on memory while still looking. The quote: "I have known great contentment." What film? Who? -
Tanenbaum, Royal -- Gene Hackman in *The Royal Tannembaums* (1990)

Whew! "Follow the money." That's Holbrook. The quote at the beginning, "I'm probably going to jail." -- That was Robert Walden as Donald Segretti, lead man in CREEP's "dirty tricks" squad. Maybe the users of this thread are from a younger generation than I thought. skipper's thread. I really do wish there was a Views count on this one. -
Not Mr. Broderick. The actor quoted worked with Welles in the 1960s.
-
Next up: In interview, not in a script or performance: "Orson Welles told me, when I had the pleasure of working with him in (title), he told me, 'Don't imagine that experience makes it (acting) easier.' "Mr. Welles", I said, I'm sure you're right, but would you explain?" " 'Certainly,' he said, 'certainly. The more experience you have, the more choices you realize there are'. ". Who?

This fact-based drama details part of an event that involved some powerful people losing their positions, some going to prison and the resignation of a high executive. -
That Mob lawyer was on *Letterman* tonight.
-
Paul Ford as the Mayor in *The Music Man.* ...pssst! I once did six performances singing bass for his barbershop quartet.
-
*155* Was-a only two things could get Mama Anamarie really upset. Food left on-a the plate, and this one -- a Guest Host on-a *Tonight Show*.

At least I hung on to a little dignity and did not use the word "ile". FranklinPangborn's thread.

> {quote:title=finance wrote:}{quote} > If you can do TV, so can I. > > Newman-----Wayne Knight on "Seinfeld" > of course you can; you always could. Ollinger -- Denver Pyle in *The Left Handed Gun* (1958) (if someone wanted to enter Oscar the Grouch here, it would be proper to add "voiced by Caroll Spinney")

No, it's a paraphraze of the title I have in mind. I learned the word "ait" because I work crosswords. For "ait", substitute "cay" or "Key".

Next question, Edythe? Or open thread?

Down at some 110+ Views, and mudskipper's thread. I enjoyed *Juno*. For a downer start -- unwanted teen pregnancy -- it put together the best possible elements in terms of common sense, supportive parents and friends, and an ideal choice of adopaive parents for the child. I just hope it can work out that happily often, given that starting point. The song itself sounds like jam-session noodling to an outsider like me, but I liked it. I don't know what reaction is to be expected from serious students of popular music. Again, skipper's thread.
