Not *Two Mules*. The graveside comment takes place in the "present day", circa 1958. It's a postscript to events that happened while the US was annexing California. -

It's not our job to keep reminding you. stick, do you know how to use the "Watch this thread" feature to help keep up with the places where others may be waiting for a response? When someone responds where you have posted, your own Email site calls your attention to it. A reminder, though, if you take advantage of that system: If a question is settled and there is no reason to await a response on that thread, click on the "stop watching thread" so you can avoid unneaded responses in your Email site. This helps you keep up with the threads when you have a question pending.

Repeating and stressing an earlier clue: One performer in the cast has a name that anchors a popular trivia game.

Mid- 1970s TVM. Later in the decade put out a 6-episode series as a summer replacement for a popular P.I. series. Subsequently guest-starred a couple of times (in that character) in the other series.

The youthful P.I. drives a convertable, dresses casually. To blend in in a suburban neighborhood, he takes a folding bicycle out of the trunk and peddles closer to his goal. "I know I look sixteen, and sometimes I count on it to help me."

Brushes with history: The Big Star had a long and honored career. He was also a decorated veteran of WWII and a Reserve Officer afterward. Took time off from his career to do go on missions in Viet Nam during that conflict. The writer whose experiences form the basis of this story. -- Was a friend and ally of the Kennedy family during their years of greatest influence. One of the bystanders who subdued and disarmed Sirhan Sirhan following the assassination of RFK.

'lana, I had no memory of that one; got past me completely. Next up: Mid-1970s TVM. A crime story built around a young private eye -- a romantic who is wasting a perfectly good degree in accounting. Some usual P.I. cliches, like skinflint client. He accepts a partial payment mailed by a former client, but the check includes the notation "Paid In Full." He's getting stiffed, but he cashes it. Needs the money. His new client: A woman with amnesia -- a blank in her memory for some 24 hours. Attempts have been made on her life, and she doesn't know why.
