  1. REBOOTING A fatality. Female. Indications it's a homicide. Investigator's headache because everybody hated this b***h.
  2. Early 1980s TVM noir. Wife. Suspicious husband. Life-weary P.I hired to tail her. For these three performers, these roles fit like gloves.
  3. *The Picture of Dorian Grey* ? *The Devil and Daniel Webster* ?
  4. (Mr.) X -- Robert Vaughn in *Blind Vision* (1996)
  5. In the belief that the player thought this was "A to Z of Actors and Actresses" -- Venable, Louis -- Frank Beal in *Cimarron* (1931)

  11. Correct at 57 Views, Sixes. Spencer Tracy forgot to remove his noshes from the coat; his girlfriend was the next to borrow it from his brother. Sixes' thread.
  12. Not *Random Harvest*. Wronged-man-seeking-revenge plot.
  13. This discovery is the first indication that someone thought to be dead is actually alive.
  14. Magda -- Spring Byington in *Dragonwyke* (1946)
  15. Okay, thanks. Probably an easy one here: A character finds peanuts in the pocket of a borrowed overcoat.
  16. The "pre-disastered" house in *The World According to Garp* ???
  17. Sounds like Person To Person. Edward R Murrow was usually the interviewer. If that's helpful to someone else.
  18. Janeway -- William Devane in *Marathon Man* (1976)
  19. Fair enough. BTW, one more question: Does anybody beside me remember the original tagline of the intro, i.e. "I'm a cop", reworded to "I carry a badge." ?? I think it was changed fairly early, while Ben Alexander as "Frank Smith" was still Friday's partner. If anyone remembers the original, please enter it here. Thread still open.
  20. Spring Byington'a time line fits the one described. Third-billed, does she qualify as "star" for her 57 episodes of *Laramie*?
  21. Barbard Bel Geddes, who starred in 207 episodes of *Dallas* ???
  22. Okay, there's a lot of folk etymology on that subject. I once was told that it came from the initials COP on the car of the Chief Of Police in the old silent comedies (evidently not the ones about "Kops"). The source i got my info from drew a line from copper = cop among the Bobbies. to the use of "bronze" meaning police among Australian criminals -- naming the metal that their badges were made from.. BTW, do you know any parties or groups who consider the term demeaning? I do know and remember that there objections to the word during the first couple of years that *Dragnet* was on the air. Still, open thread. Edited by: flashback42 on Feb 4, 2012 9:56 PM
  23. Correct at 57 Views. The Robert Harrison Clarke Story, aired 14 Oct 1963. lavenderblue's thread.
  24. A party consisting of some series regulars, the Brit and his entourage, and the Army man are cut off from the main traveling group, and are besieged by a war party led by a renegade chief.
  25. Okaaaay! Good news / bad news. I tracked down the answer, but the fact that I had the time to research something that obscure makes it harder to claim I have a life. :8} Next up: Mid 20th Century Western series. Basic plot device about settlers making their way west. An episode with two guest stars. One is a high-ranking Army NCO; the other is British aristocrat type (Brit actor) accompanied by servants and hard for the others to get to know. Series? Guests?
