The series. Late 1990s crime-investigation procedural about an
FBI team that tracked important cases. Melded with the "wild talent" type of stories that were popular then, about people with special abilities. (Millennium, Strange Luck, The Pretender, The Others, etc). The woman agent who led the team had an ESP-type ability that allowed her to make mental leaps to usually accurate conclusions upon receiving a scrap of information, taking a quick glance at a crime scene, or other minimal clues.
The guest. An actress who had been working since very young. In the late '60s had worked in a Western Epic with a very big star in a role as a scrappy heroine. In an episode about a jailed serial killer approaching his scheduled execution, she portrayed a sympathetic groupie-type of supporter, organizing protests, and actually helping the condemned man on the outside, performing covert tasks in hope of saving his life.
