Oopsie! Dozed off, I guess. Next up: "Is he as good (a gunman) as I used to be?" "It'd be pretty close. I'd hate to have to live off the difference." ...Film? Speakers? Talking about whom? -

To my regret, I did not set up a Views count on this question, so I have no way of judging how much interest was generated. Actually, I thought it would be answered right away. RETIRING THE QUESTION: "Video Assist" is the process that has helped reduce the original dependence on "overnight rushes". A video tape camera is mounted alongside or actually on the movie camera; it runs when the movie camera is running, and it gives a quick view of what the camera has seen. It works best at showing if framing and focus was correct. Other problems could show up after the film is developed, but these two points are locked in from the start. Jerry Lewis is given credit with coming up with this system during the filming of The Bellboy (1960). He used it as a means of monitoring his own performance. This was a couple of decades ahead of the video camera coming into general use for everybody. For his contribution, he was made an Honorary Member of the Society of Operating Cameramen. Open thread

Catch Me If You Can (2002) ...Where I found the quote, it was part of a very long speech. Speaker was not identified either by character or performer. I reason that it is the Di Caprio character. ??? -

No, I don't know the answer... Unclear, I guess. -- I was referring to the name already given, hoping to clear the "Who?" thread.

RETIRING THE QUESTION This is a good Trivia question, but the flow of the scene makes it too cumbersome for the way this thread is set up. The Night They Raided Minsky's (1968) Two opinionated and stiff-necked men, one Jewish, one Amish, are in a theological conflict, based on their different interpretations of Scripture. Starting with the Fist of Righteousness and moving to the fingers, it goes all over the place, until they decide to go to the theater and try to avert a crisis. (BTW, the Finger of Transportation turns out to be the thumb -- in a hitchhiker's gesture.) Open thread.

Comedy. Color. A movie from late in the last century, which re-united two stars who had done well in a previous comedy.
