  3. 298? "I keep telling you, and you need to listen to me. We have observed these beings, and we now know their system: It's Red light - stop. Green light - go. Yellow light - go very, very fast!"
  4. don't think I have to research this one... A passage of lyrics from Mrs. Robinson ? Performed as part of the score to The Graduate by Simon and Garfunkle ???

  11. Nana would fit that description a couple of times over...??
  12. I had reason to mention this example recently in another context. David Niven, in Guns of Navarone, portrayed an enlisted soldier, a Corporal, and demolitions expert. He made no effort to sound like a member of the rank-and-file class, but continued to use the aristocratic accents of his own background. -- A Sandhurst graduate, UK equilivent of a West Pointer. Marlon Brando's memoirs mentioned this habit of Nivin's -- never to talk "below his station'; Brando did not respect that. For a better casting choice, Ronald Fraser comes to mind immediately. Kevin Whatley, Brit TV's "Inspector Lewis" -- now with his own series after serving as sidekick to "Inspector Morse" -- would also be a good choice. For modern remake -- Tim Roth, hands down.
  13. 296 "I told you the livestock and produce exhibits are the other way. And keep her away from the freak-geek sideshow, damnit!"
  14. I tried to post this on the Admin site, and couldn't log on there. I've noticed an error in the time column on some of the sites. In the last column on the right, the one labled "Last Post". The red-printed date & time just above the poster's name. I am reading the current time on every line. An example: About 10:59 or so, this date, I made an entry in the thread "who said this?". Looking at the Forum page just a few moments ago, I saw the red entry just above my name give the time as about 11:06, which was the current time at that moment. ALL the "last post" redletter entries were keeping time with the continuous clock at the bottom of my monitor, off the TCM screen. If this is happening only to me, I can live with it. If it's found that it's happening to others (or to everybody) TCMAdmin needs to know.
  15. Correct, Kid. BTW, Normand and Pickford were very good friends, and Ms. Normand was just funnin'. Kid Dabb's thread.
  16. ...abandoned thread. Actress, during an interview, is asked what are her hobbies. Reply: "I don't know. Say anything you like, but don't say I love to work. That sounds like Mary Pickford, that prissy b**ch. Just say I like to pinch babies and twist their legs. And get drunk."
  17. 295 "...and I think you'll soon agree, ladies, that this is the best possible venue for a secure Witness Protection site."
  18. Normand, Mable -- Marisa Tormei in Chaplin (1992)
  19. 295 "...Just one more question before you register...Your blood type please?"
  20. http://www.tcm.com/mediaroom/video/262424/High-School-Confidential-Movie-Clip-Open-High-School-Hop.html Correct. an amusing factiod about this opening: Russ Tamblyn is seen driving to school in a convertible while shaving with an electric shaver that plugged into the dashboard cigarette lighter of his car. (Such things were being advertised on TV at that time.) In real life, a number of motorists were later arrested for shaving themselves while driving at speed limit on the LA freeways. Your thread.
