  1. John Huston's distraction during filming of *The African Queen* ??
  2. *266* The procedure over, and well into her medication routine, Mrs. Ricardo no longer had any desire to break into show business.
  3. *The Orphanage* Spanish with English Subtitles, written by Sergio G. Sanchez?
  4. ...moving over into Classic TV territory... Bent Fork
  5. Not that one. An early starring role in a career that got very much bigger.
  6. Yes, down at 105 Views. You can either take the thread, or open it again.
  7. In a few scenes that are not shared, or mentioned to his new fellow-boarder, the theater-owner visits a convalescent home. He endures the long, lingering death of his mother. His grief is deep and real, but the removed responsibility brings him to some changes.
  8. (44,573) The film presents as a biopic, but it is much more Hollywood than History. The central figure did finish out a 25-year sentence, and he published an autobiography telling his side of things, couched in the language of his better-educated wife. But the actual facts indicate that this is a very bad man's self-whitewash.
  9. Thanks, 'skipper. Next up: "...Tell me about your house." "My house is in the hills above Trujillo. Very simple place, pink stones that warm in the sun, kitchen garden that smells of herbs in the day, jasmine in the evening. Through the gate is a giant poplar. Figs, apple pears. The soil, M______, black...black like my wife's hair. Grapes on the south slope, olives on the north. Wild ponies play near my house, they tease my son. He wants to be one of them." "When was the last time you were home? "Two years, 264 days and this morning." Film? Performers?
  10. Dothery, there is no reason not to answer, if you like. Go ahead.
  11. ...re variations, for your consideration: *Call Me Madam* (??)
  12. James Westerfield as "Mike Adams" in *Cowboy* (1958)
  13. Thanks. Next: Convicted outlaw serves his sentence, goes home to join his wife, and the son he has not seen since the lad was an infant. Western. Color.
  14. *The Ghost and Mr. Chicken* *They Call Me MISTER Tibbs* *Mr. Saturday Night*
  15. Thanks, Dothery. Next up: "I'm gonna charge him -- possession, and being under the influence while on duty. Plead guilty, and I'll recommend thirty days in the brig with loss of rank and pay." "It was oregano, Dave. It was ten dollars worth of oregano." "Well, your client thought it was marijuana." "My client's a moron. That's not against the law." "I've got people to answer to, just like you. I'm gonna charge him." "With what? Possession of a condiment?" Dave, I've tried to help you out with this, but if you ask for tall time, I'm gonna file a motion to dismiss." "You won't get it." "I will get it. And if the MTD is denied, I'll file a motion in limine seeking to obtain evidentiary ruling in advance, and after that I'm gonna file against pre-trial confinement, and you're gonna spend an entire summer going blind on paperwork because a Signalman Second Class bought and smoked a dime bag of oregano." "B Misdemeanor, 20 days in the brig." "C Misdemeanor, 15 days restricted duty." "...I don't know why I'm agreeing to this." "Because you have wisdom beyond your years. Dave, can you play third base.?"
  16. Correct, 'skipper. Your thread.
  17. That would fit, maybe, but it's not the one I have in mind. Early 1980s. Color. Comedy.
  18. > {quote:title=GIPPER wrote:}{quote}COME BACK TO THE FIVE AND DIME, JIMMY DEAN, JIMMY DEAN (1982) Again, that contains the "round trip" element, but this one also belongs in Round 11, as an Imperetive, even naming the person addressed. *Return to Oz*, *Return to Peyton Place --* Could go either way Comebacks of Imperitives. back to "comebacks" *The Return of The Musketeers* *The Return of the Scarlet Pimpernel* *Return of A Man Called Horse* *The Return of October* *The Return of Swamp Thing*
  19. Okay, let's see here... Switching situations.
  20. > {quote:title=TopBilled wrote:}{quote}Can we include COME BACK, LITTLE SHEBA...? Uhhh, I think Prof Bailey, rest in peace, wouldn't let me get away with that one. More properly, it should go in Round 11, as an Imperitive. Wish I had come up with it then. To present business: *Return of the Fly* *Return of Superfly* *The Return of Jesse James* *The Return of the Living Dead* *The Return of the Tall Blond Man With One Black Shoe* *The Return of the Seven*
  21. Up and down in about 15 hours. I wasn't attracted to this film by the Ad blurbs, but when it showed up on a Premium Channel and I saw it, I was rolling in the aisle. No uh, outsider could have gotten away with writing this, but it was a hoot and a half. Edythe's thread.
  22. > {quote:title=TopBilled wrote:}{quote}How about BATMAN RETURNS...? Perfectly good, TopBilled. And although this game is about "keywords", I'm inclined to look for -- and use -- any of the rare ones that do not use the keyword here. Thus *The Cat Came Back* (1988 Short) Of course, all that do use that term are automatically in.
  23. ...which brings up *Round 15...* *Comebacks.* *Return of the Pink Panther* *Return of the Jedi* *The Return of Frank James* sic' em
