Louise Brooks stated Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle was wonderful to dance with because he was so light on his feet.

I remember being on a party line, it was either 3 or 4 other housholds that shared the line with us. You could get your name on a waiting list for a private number but paid a premium price for it. It was impossible to buy a telephone back then, you had to lease it through your telephone company.

Nice pics and what a gorgeous lady.

I always liked the graphics and song for "One Reel Wonders".

onamunson, thanks so much for the info. His music had a nice kick to it for that era. I'll definitly do some research on him. Thanks again, I appreciate it.

I will. I'm looking forward to watching it.

Rebecca is one of those movies I'll watch everytime it airs. What a great supporting cast also. For me it's one of those movies that just pulls you in.
Fontaine certainly played the "insecurity" to the hilt. I always felt so sorry for her as she was coming down to the costume party after Mrs. Danvers set her up about the costume she should wear.

Did anyone happen to catch "Over The Goal" (1937) on Hopper day??
I enjoyed this one, Hattie McDaniel & Eddie "Rochester" Anderson were halarious!!!!
There was also a guy playing the trumpet and singing I thought was really good (I like music from the teens, 20's, 30's etc..). Does anyone know he was and what the songs were???
Wish I had burned this one on DVD.

I have Mystery House burned to DVD but haven't watched it yet. There are a lot of B movies I'm a big fan of.

Fred, I grew up in Alabama and from what I remember where I lived you had pockets of areas that were pretty bad and then you had larger areas that were nothing like FitzPatric depicted.
Cotton was a big industry where I was (Huntsville, Al), but you had both blacks and whites out in those cotton fields picking.

I remember back in the 1970's one of the local Drive-In Theaters had a horror triple feature, Dracula's Daughter was one of the movies. This one Drive In was always having multiple horror and Sci-Fi flicks trying to attract people.

I always thought Glenn Strange looked great in the Frankenstein Monster make-up. Years ago when Don Post Studio had the contract making Universal horror masks (sold in the back of Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine), at one time they had two Fankenstein Mask to choose from, one from Karloff and the other of Glenn Strange.

What I would give to hang out with George Sanders, just think he was so cool.
I also think if he were in his prime today he would make the perfect James Bond.

Speaking of Chaplin, today is the birthdate of Jackie Coogan. I've always liked "The Kid".

$70.00 is outrageous for any DVD!!!!!!!!
I've bought several used DVD's off Amazon and have had very good luck with the exception of one and I got a fast refund on it. Of course being use, you never know until it arrives in the mail.

Warren William for me....

I don't remember "One Step Beyond", good title. I'll have to check into that.
50 episodes for $5.00!!!! Now that's a bargain.
Thanks for the info, I appreciate that.

Where's Warren William when he's needed??? (LOL)
This is the first I've heard of this. Guess it's not surprising the way re-makes keep getting cranked out these days (I don't know what they're calling them today either).

I liked the Perry Mason television series but also love the Perry Mason movies with Warren William. Wish they would have made more of them.

fredbaetz, I bet those were some fun times. I grew up watching locally produced kid shows, wish they would come back. I think it gave people a sense of community in addition to some good entertainment for children. Where I grew up we had them in the early morning before school and then just after school. There was another local channel that had The Big Show, an afternoon movie, usualy science fiction of the fifties or a good horror movie.
A role in The Thomas Crown affair is a big deal!!!!!!
