  1.

Thanks for that information, WillBeFree. I knew that Nick Charles was not the "Thin Man" but I never knew who was "The Thin Man". I learn so much reading the Message Board, Thank You.

I appreciate that the programmers at TCM not only ran all the Thin Man movies, one after another but they did it on a night that many people had off work the next day. I did watch every movie but unfortunately some only long enough that I opened my eyes and tried to figure out which movie it was and then my eyes closed again. I hope TCM will run the movies again and instead of watching it in bed I will sit on hard chair.

  2. GRRRR! Today my son is peacefully watching a soccer game. Sitting on the same spot on the same sofa. And where is dog? SLEEPING!

Next movie I want to see, I am going in the bedroom and closing the door!

  3. Finance - you know what - well, first let me say I am new to this dog thing - I am babysitting (with not end date in sight) my brother's dog. I made sure he was walked and feed before the movie. So I could sit and watch the movie with no interruptions. I no sooner sat down then the dog started to sit and stare at me. Then every few minutes he took his paw and kept tapping the sofa where I was sitting. I tried to put him outside - he wouldn't go. I suspect that he wanted to go for another walk. I do not know "dog talk or mannerisms" yet. So I spent the fist half of the movie trying to figure out what he wanted - and never did figure it out. I suspect he just didn't want me sitting and watching a movie.

  4. This was taken from the last several lines of the overview -

Only when Steve arrives and grows angry at Lily's behaviour does she break down and admit her fear of losing him. When Steve insists he does not know what to do about his marriage, Lily decides to force the issue and asks Jim to introduce her to Nora. Despite Jim's warnings, Lily meets Nora, but is so moved by the sincerity of Nora's affection for Steve and her real dependency upon him, that she cannot break up their marriage. Although distracted and unhappy after giving up Steve, Lily continues to work and remains resolute about her decision. One day she runs into Lee who, angered over her rebuff at his advances, tells her she ruined herself and will end up like Mary. Depressed by the accuracy of Lee's observations, Lily darkly considers ending her life, but resolves to be strong and, breaking Mary's good-luck porcelein slipper, goes on alone.
