  1. Yes, same here! I also have trouble with the on-demand videos. They keep freezing and they black out. Right now, only the West Coast feed is working properly. It must be a bug problem. This app should be updated more often.
  2. Yes, it was a Criterion release on laserdisc. I don't know exactly the year it was released. There were many classic MGM/Warner/RKO films released on laserdisc through Criterion a long time ago. Here is the link on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Criterion_Collection_Laserdisc_releases That is probably why they are re-releasing The Asphalt Jungle. There may be hope for other classic movies (mostly from the Turner library) worthy of the Criterion treatment.
  3. The Asphalt Jungle was given the Criterion treatment on laserdisc before.
  4. The Criterion copy of "The Wicked Lady" is leaving Prime.
  5. Thanks! I appreciate it. I hope the Paramount Vault picks up films such as "About Mrs. Leslie," "Alaska Seas," and "Knock on Wood." However, I wonder if the new streaming service FilmStruck will pick up the discarded titles or is it exclusively Criterion?
  6. The last three "essentials" you mentioned, "The House Across the Bay," "Trade Winds," and "Vogues of 1938" are also leaving Prime.
  7. This is an alert concerning Amazon Prime members. I checked my watchlist which consists of classic films and I just found out that almost all of the classic films (mostly from the MGM, Paramount, and Republic libraries) are leaving Prime at the end of this month. I'm not sure if they'll ever return. Does anyone have any idea what's going to happen to them or where they will go to? Please let me know.
  8. Yes, if you don't spend $25 or more on your order. The shipping fee is at least $2.98.
  9. The July Criterion Collection 50% Off sale at Barnes & Noble begins today and ends on August 1st, in stores and online!
  10. Today at Barnes & Noble, there are thousands of DVD's and Blu-Rays on sale at 40% off, including many Criterion titles (pre-order Criterions excluded). In addition to the sale, there is a special Father's Day discount of 20% plus free express shipping. Today is the only time to take advantage of both offers for the Father's Day offer expires tonight.
  11. I'm trying to understand how the licensing of films to be aired on television is different from the licensing of films being aired on computers and mobile devices? Why can't we watch certain movies on these devices? Is the programming department trying to fix the problem? How do we know which movies are being blocked? It just doesn't make sense! It's also frustrating!
