  1. Yes, same here! I also have trouble with the on-demand videos. They keep freezing and they black out. Right now, only the West Coast feed is working properly. It must be a bug problem. This app should be updated more often.
  2. Can anyone bring this entire list up to date?
  3. Don't forget he also directed White Christmas (1954). The film was the highest-grossing film of 1954.
  4. Yes, it was a Criterion release on laserdisc. I don't know exactly the year it was released. There were many classic MGM/Warner/RKO films released on laserdisc through Criterion a long time ago. Here is the link on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Criterion_Collection_Laserdisc_releases That is probably why they are re-releasing The Asphalt Jungle. There may be hope for other classic movies (mostly from the Turner library) worthy of the Criterion treatment.
  5. The Asphalt Jungle was given the Criterion treatment on laserdisc before.
  6. The Criterion copy of "The Wicked Lady" is leaving Prime.
  7. Thanks! I appreciate it. I hope the Paramount Vault picks up films such as "About Mrs. Leslie," "Alaska Seas," and "Knock on Wood." However, I wonder if the new streaming service FilmStruck will pick up the discarded titles or is it exclusively Criterion?
  8. The last three "essentials" you mentioned, "The House Across the Bay," "Trade Winds," and "Vogues of 1938" are also leaving Prime.
  9. This is an alert concerning Amazon Prime members. I checked my watchlist which consists of classic films and I just found out that almost all of the classic films (mostly from the MGM, Paramount, and Republic libraries) are leaving Prime at the end of this month. I'm not sure if they'll ever return. Does anyone have any idea what's going to happen to them or where they will go to? Please let me know.
  10. That's understandable. However, there is another thing that is confusing to me. When a film has been shown on the WatchTCM app and placed on-demand, that same particular film is suddenly blocked the next time. For example, Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942) has been available on the WatchTCM app before, but suddenly, on the night of this year's Fourth of July broadcast, it was blocked from the app. How does that happen when one time a film is shown on-demand and the next time it's blocked?
  11. Don't forget about leasing the rights to show a film on mobile devices. I'm still trying to understand why certain films cannot be shown on these devices.
  12. Yes, if you don't spend $25 or more on your order. The shipping fee is at least $2.98.
  13. The July Criterion Collection 50% Off sale at Barnes & Noble begins today and ends on August 1st, in stores and online!
  14. For those who own a Roku device, the PlayStation Vue service is now available on Roku and it's also now available nationwide. The following prices for each package are: The Access Slim package (55+ channels) is $29.99 a month, the Core Slim package (70+ channels) is $34.99 a month, and the Elite Slim package (100+ channels) is $44.99 a month. Unfortunately, TCM is only available in the Core and Elite packages.
