Haha, it was Head, the line Davy Jones said to Sonny Liston before the boxing match. "You wont hurt my face will ya? Million dollar HEAD, this."
-
That's a shame, but understandable that they would want to avoid a media circus for the sake of Davy's family. As for all that business about 'Head', I'm with you, i don't agree with that article one bit. When that movie tanked, it was a loss for all of them, including RayBert and Nicholson. Jack was heartbroken over it, and would have quit the movie industry if it weren't for Dennis Hopper casting him in Easy Rider, which at the time was supposed to be just another low budget bike film. No one expected Easy Rider to turn Hollywood on its ear like it did, that's just the way it happened. Head has since become a treasured cult classic, so I don't understand why the Monkees would beat themselves up over it. Let us forget the misgivings of the past, and honor the legacy that Davy left behind.

Did I get it right?
See if anyone can guess this one: "Great, I'll have a go at him. You won't hurt my face, will ya? Million dollar head, this.."
I'll give a hint, the title of the movie is in the quote..

Oops, didn't realize my buddy Dargo already posted Daydream on here earlier. Here's another one of my favorites, Mickey and Davy share vocals on it:
The Porpoise Song
"Goodbye, goodbye.."
Here's an article I found in which his bandmates react to the news of Davy's passing. I found it very touching:
-

Monkees- Daydream Believer ( original promo video, 1967)
-
The Monkees- I wanna be free

-
"This is me lookin at you, kiddo.."
Humphrey Bogart, Casablanca (1942)
-
Anyone catch the Beach Boys on the Grammys the other day? All the original members (minus Carl and Dennis, except in spirit). I thought of this thread when they played Good Vibrations..
Is it April yet? I wanna watch some beach party flicks..
-
Vivre Sa Vie
Midnight Cowboy
Smoke and Flesh (haha, tcm would never show it, nevermind..)
Rosemary's Baby
annnd.... Duffy.
Those aren't really my favorites, just the first four movies that came to mind.. I like this thread.

I've seen many parodies of the "Im the king of the world!" scene alone. Seriously though, Titanic was sort of like the Casablanca or Gone With the Wind of the 90s in terms of how big of a deal it was in its time. I'll admit I was somewhat moved by it, and how the whole movie was elderly Rose telling her story for the first (and possibly only) time in 80 years. Tugged at the ol' heartstrings. I never felt the need to watch it again though. Only saw it once, when it came out in the theater.
-
LOL! I thought Titanic was okay. It might even end up on TCM in the near future..
