I like Drive starring James Dean. and the Hangover with Dean Martin, Jack Lemmon and Jerry Lewis.. i wish those movies really existed they would probabily be a hundred times better than the actual current versions...here's an amusing fake movie poster I stumbled upon..

Polanski has a directing style that makes his movies seem quiet and subdued and also creepy no matter what is happening on the screen. like Rosemary's Baby, and the way the scenes transition to where you can still hear a sound from the last scene overlap into the next scene, like when John Cassavettes is leaving the apartment and the scene switches to Rosemary (Mia Farrow) in the bedroom but you only hear the sound of him shutting the door synching up perfectly with Rosemary switching on the lamp in the next scene. I admire Polanski's style of directing is what I mean to say, and of course I watched Repulsion last night.. the part where she takes the razor to her landlord.. brutal!
Watching Cathren Deneuve descend into madness was unnerving.. the hands reaching through the walls during one of her hallucinations was a very cool effect!

here is a link to a fantastic 1957 documentary about the extraordinary life of James Dean.

I'm excited to have found it in its entirety. it must be public domain.. haven't seen it in forever.

I think the streaker just hijacked this thread haha
-
ol' ski nose himself was the host, and Billy Crystal doesn't even compare in my opinion.. i also witnessed the oscar night that featured the 'streaker', anyone else remember that?

speaking of drive ins, wouldn't it be cool if TCM showed some of the old intermissions in between movies? like this one: http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=US#/watch?v=gCxxi-uo_TI

Lol! it was probabily more like..

April 16th-20th.. so many good movies! Beach Ball, Girls on the Beach, Blue Hawaii, Ride the Wild Surf, Its a Bikini World, Hot Rods to Hell, and it ends with almost the entire Frankie and Annette Beach Party series. Sooo cool, I wish they would have shown Catalina Caper too, but its still a very good schedule that I'm looking forward to. this is TCM at its best as far as I'm concerned!

HA! that's crazy.. glad no one was hurt.

> {quote:title=noiramour wrote:}{quote}I didn't like this film at all and found it to be the worst of mystical, sentimental crap. The much-discussed montage of the origin of the universe was a lot less informative and compelling than a Discovery channel documentary. I literally fell asleep. I find it difficult to take seriously a film in which afterlife has something to do with Brad Pitt and Sean Penn walking on a beach.
LOL!! I need to watch this movie...

Bunny Lake definitely isn't my favorite Otto Preminger flick, I actually agree with you about how long and slow paced it is. the only part I really like is the Zombies do the soundtrack;)

Friday is gonna be awesome!

1967 was a great year in movies:
The Graduate, Bonnie and Clyde, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, Barefoot in the Park, Cool Hand Luke, In Cold Blood, In the Heat of The Night.. ect.
-
1965 had a lot of good movies
-
don't get me wrong I liked The Haunting.. the first thousand times I saw it.

In my opinion TCM underground hasnt been good in forever..

The HAUNTING isnt underground at all, it was distributed by MGM! their lack of AIP films disappoints me. Wouldn't something like Glory Stompers and Hell's Angels on Wheels double feature be way better? or both Dr Goldfoot movies one night. or The Trip with Peter Fonda, Riot on Sunset Strip, Wild in the Streets, Maryjane, Gas-s-s-s, Psych-Out with Jack Nicholson.

or pretty much anything from Something Weird Video... The Cat Ate the Parakeet, Smoke and Flesh, Mondo Mod, The Hippie Revolt, ect

I think twilight zone was way more sci-fi than night gallery. that show was more about supernatural stuff like that one episode where this alcoholic thought she had ghosts in the attic of her new home, and she gets her ex husband up there hoping he'll have a heart attack. remember that one?

Hello, Jerry. If I remember correctly, this was an episode of Night Gallery
