  1. Yes, I had eliminated the those Maugham flicks in my own search, they threw me at first. Thanks again! I am also pleased to mention that I have been able to help 3 other users find movie titles they had been looking for. It is a nice feeling.
  2. Greetings! I don't know about Jackie Cooper, but from your description (melting typewriters) this is probably the film you're looking for. The Day the Earth Caught Fire http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0054790/
  3. Greetings! It took some hunting and a variety of search strings, but I think I found it for you. Talk About a Stranger (1952) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0045216/ Cheers!
  4. Greetings! I think this is probably what you're looking for. "Keep Your Powder Dry" 1945 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0037843/
  5. Wow, Clore, that was amazing! Thank you so very much! I knew a prominent writer was involved but I couldn't remember the name. That must be some list you have there! I sure appreciate the time you must have spent helping me. I will try to pay it forward. Hopefully I can buy the film here since they apparently don't play it very often. I sure look forward to seeing it again. Thanks again and many blessings!
  6. Greetings movie lovers! My wife and I saw a delightful film on TCM a couple of years ago and have been waiting to encounter it again. I can only tell you a little bit about it from memory (I feel asleep for part of it). It was a British film. From the color I would place it late 50's into the 60's. It was 3 or 4 stories in one (there is a chance it was only two). The first was about a theater family, I don't remember the details, and the last (if I am remembering the order correctly) was about a couple visiting friends in Paris (or somewhere in southern Europe), and they run out of money. There is a mix-up with stolen jewelry or a watch or some such, while they scheme on where to get more money. I am sorry I don't remember much more about it, except that it was absolutely charming! But I don't know anything else about it, so how will I know when it is coming on again or what to look for to buy it? I hope someone can help. I will try to look at other threads here and return the favor. Thank you!!!
