[Las Vegas (Clark County) Residents Get Screwed by Cox Communications]

 

Another Vegas resident here who just discovered I've being screwed by Cox.

 

 

Can't believe it. And this came right after our annual March rate increase. No announcement of the change, nothing mentioned in my latest bill that this was forthcoming. This shows up on my screen:

 

 

 

 

 

"Turner Classic Movies is now available on digital channel 40. To continue receiving this channel you will need a digital receiver or CableCARD in your TV. To upgrade services to digital please call..."

 

 

 

 

 

I've got a 10 year old (non digital) TV that works fine. I'm not shelling out hundreds for a new set or any extra for a set top digital box. Forget that. So in essence, they now charge me more and are taking away channels. I'd cancel them in a second if they didn't provide super-fast internet. Guess I'll have to say goodbye to TCM.

 

 

[THE BIRDS September 19 Screenings]

I can't believe no one's mentioned the spoiler-filled clips that accompanied the interview portion. Does TCM have any clue that there are first-timers in the audience? If this continues I will avoid all future TCM screenings.

I want to go to this but heard there were problems with the West Side Story showing in Nov where screenings in some cities began too soon, and people who showed up at the appropraite time saw a movie already one hour in progress.
