Over the past few months TCM has given us The Al Jolson Story and the Gene Krupa Story. These movies have opened up a whole world of fabulous music to me. I am especially engrossed with Artie Shaw - what an artist - smooth, beautiful music, eye candy too. I wish TCM would broadcast the movies that he was in and especially I wish they'd broadcast the 10 minute "Artie Shaw Orchestra Symphony of Swing" once a month! In Shaw's autobiography "The Cinderella Problem" he refers to Theodore Dreiser's novel "The Genius" - very interesting reading - Anthony Weiner (for one) might benefit from reading it. Thank you TCM!
