Romantic movie "happy endings" that made you want to scream

Is that what he meant by obsessive quality in your imagination"? It was unclear. I cannot say that I am personally obsessed by any romantic movie. -

Ever Do Anything STUPID Just Because You Saw It In A Movie?
Bogie56 replied to TomJH's topic in General Discussions
I loved war movies and Vic Morrow's Combat as a kid. At the time I thought I had missed out on something big. Thankfully that was just a childish phase that I grew out of. But I wouldn't be surprised if some kids of the sixties grew up and volunteered for Viet Nam because of that sensibility. -

And what a great job that would be at his age.

HITS & MISSES: Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow on TCM

Tuesday, October 8/9 3 a.m. I was really looking forward to a rare showing of Sparrows Can’t Sing (1963) with Barbara Windsor and Roy Kinnear but then that was bumped from the Canadian schedule in favour of Brotherly Love (1970). Brotherly Love looked interesting in its own right but ALL of this is now out the window with yet another screening of The Bigamist (1953) in both Canada and the U.S. I guess they couldn't get Sparrows for the U.S. too and decided to give us both The Bigamist. -
Never mind personalities! Think about the technicians. Short shelf life.

If he retires from show biz by choice he will be one of the lucky ones. As Michael Caine once said, "You don't retire from show business. It retires from you."

This was 50 plus pages in the General Discussion forum alone. Other forums too. -

They were just new made-up names that didn't make a lot of sense. Just like the Asian SPAM we have been used to getting. But instead of 3 posts we got about 1,000 or so I would say for about 5 + hours. -

I'm not sure how all of this works. I don't call myself the 'global village idiot' for nothing. BUT, the spammer first has to create a named account in order to post to our forum. That is what I meant when I said 4 to 6 registered users were spamming. It was 4 to 6 different names that accounted for the 50 + pages of spam. Perhaps you are right that the intention was not for it to carry on that long, but who knows? I don't suspect we will hear from the moderator, or will we? ... -

This was almost 60 pages in the general Discussion section alone. It was also going on in other TCM forums. About 4 to 6 newly registered users were posting constantly. Granted, it could be one person with 4 or 5 machines but it appeared too well organized and 'foreign' for it to be a disgruntled person IMHO. -

I think there were at least 4 registered posters that were spamming at the same time. Could be one person with 4 or more accounts. I wonder if the mods have a way of tracing the attack? -

Monday, October 5 7:15 a.m. The Southerner (1945) by Jean Renoir is a good bet. J. Carroll Naish is pretty good in it. 9 a.m. Of Mice and Men (1939) featuring Aaron Copland’s amazing score. 11 a.m. Cabin In the Cotton (1932). An early Bette Davis that I would like a copy of. 3 a.m. Splendor (1935) with Miriam Hopkins. One of her best films actually. I haven’t seen this one in some time. -
I believe this went under the title Black Pudding: An Offal Experience in Great Britain.

Film Recommendation Threads vs Film Discussion Threads

And someone is not taking their own advice about butting out and staying away from threads with topics they don't agree with.
