Did we not do our favorites of 2020 yet? I saw the one Taiwanese film and that was Zzzzzz. Forget which others I saw but none stand out. As far as Goke I remember seeing that on Imports (I think?) and my god that was atrocious.
We have not done 2020 as yet. I am getting a lot of screeners for awards consideration but when it comes to foreign language films the majority of them were actually released in 2019. But I may have a preliminary favourites list for 2020 by March.

He played a great villain in the 1978 Canadian film, The Silent Partner. I believe it has been on TCM.

Frank, rather fascinating article about Christopher Plummer. Love how he admits that he was kind of a jerk in the 60's/70's and finally got his act together. Very talented guy in any era. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9229237/Christopher-Plummer-dies-aged-91.html

Canada's news channels have been devoting long tribute segments to Christopher Plummer concentrating on his stage accomplishments. It is said that he came to terms with the popularity of The Sound of Music when he became older but thought the part was pretty limited in scope.

Comet, it tastes like gas-o-line,
Comet, it makes your teeth turn green.
Comet, it tastes like vomit,
So get Comet, and vomit,
Today. . . .
But it is good against the corona virus, right? A way to inject it into the body? We're looking into that, right?

midnight. Love In the Afternoon (1957). I saw this recently and as much as I like Billy Wilder, Gary Cooper and Audrey Hepburn I thought this was a real dud.

Nausicaa (1971) Agnes Varda, France
Docudrama about Greek political refugees in France. At times it could easily be mistaken for a Godard film. For me it was all a bit dated and not that engaging. Gerard Depardieu has an interesting cameo as a hippie petty thief.
