  7. Friday, May 8 12:45 p.m. Mischa Elman (1926). 7 minute short with the violinist. My fascination is when this film was made - 1926. It has to be a very early sound experiment.
  8. According to an article out today in The New Yorker the film produced by Wood and Wagner's daughter has an agenda which is to exonerate Robert Wagner. Wood's sister, Lana who had suspicions about Natalie's death is apparently portrayed as a 'hanger-on.'
  9. Thursday, May 7 SOTM Edward G. Robinson 8 p.m. Little Caesar (1930). I have to go with breakout film. Replaced in Canada with Outward Bound (1930). And … 12:30 a.m. Key Largo (1948). This is one of my favourite Edward G. performances.

  13. Wednesday, May 6 10 a.m. Popeye: The Dance Contest (1934). Popeye on a Wednesday afternoon? 8 p.m. The Dragon Painter (1919). Silent film with Sessue Hayakawa. My grandmother used to tell me about seeing some of his silents. She always mangled his name.

  16. Tuesday, May 5 5:15 p.m. The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948). They don’t come much better than this.
  17. Monday, May 4 8:45 a.m. Mental Poise (1938). This Robert Benchley short sounds interesting.
