  1. To the poster (don't remember which) that complained he works late and when he gets home all TCM seems to be running are crummy horror movies. You need to get a DVR. Either buy one or rent it from your cable company. You think I actually stay up to watch this stuff?
  2. TCM's Underground series has highlighted some great off-the-wall movies. In the time slot it's at there shouldn't be a problem avoiding it if a particular movie is something you don't like. The guide does a good job of describing what you're getting into. Personally, I think Fulci movies are overrated (and no, they're not all gore films as someone posted . . . he did westerns, comedies, all different genres) but I absolutely believe they should be shown in the Underground series. Tons of articles and film studies have been written on the guy, so he obviously has a large following and many people enjoy them. Also, I never understand comments like "why do you need all the gore"? It's very judgemental, and assumes that's the only reason someone's attracted to The Beyond. I've seen it several times, primarily for it's mood. If you had stuck with it (although you probably made a good choice in turning it off if the gore bothered you . . . . it gets worse) you'd have seen it creates a good atmosphere of dread and the ending has some haunting imagery. There's more to it than just guts. Anyway, I'm glad TCM doesn't stick to only studio catalog titles 24/7. I love those, of course, as well as just about every genre out there. I don't see why the little sliver of programming they devote to cult should be a problem for anyone.
