In her Wiki bio page it states: She was the only actress in the series that James Garner lauded her acting ability in depth and at length in his memoir The Garner Files. (...knowing you are a big Garner fan Tom, I have a feeling you've read that book and probably ran across these passages within it, huh)
-
(ding, ding, ding) RIGHT you are, sir! Yep, seems you worked for RCA, alright. (...sorry I had to quiz ya on this, but one can never be too careful in these kind'a situations, ya know)
-
So, "RCA", eh?! Well, we'll soon see about THAT right now! QUICK! What was the dog's name in their "His Master's Voice" iconography, HUH?! (...this should be real easy IF you're tellin' the truth here, ya know)
-
So Moe. What exactly did you do in the Music Industry in order to have all of these encounters?
-
Is it only me, or does this shot of young Jimmy almost look like a Norman Rockwell painting?
-
Having been prompted by your mention of Gary Conway here Dan, I've found that he's made a pretty nice living for himself since his acting career ended. His last film credit being in 2000. It appears the now 85 year old former actor and his wife of 63 years, the former Miss America of 1957 Marian McKnight, have for years now owned a winery in one of my favorite locations within the Golden State...Paso Robles, California. (...not bad I'd say)
-
Thanks, lav! I also caught him recently in that post-apocalyptic TZ episode titled "The Old Man in the Cave". (...ya know I'm thinkin' it's about time TCM should honor the guy with at least a SUTS day, don't ya think?)
-
Ah-HA! So YOU were Welch's inspiration for that opening line, "Have you seen that girl in the corner", eh?! Well, as I recall, you DO have "ebony eyes" now don't ya, Tiki? (...nice write-up up there...what took ya so long to tell us about these great old memories you have of notables here?)
-
And I also remember her in A Kiss Before Dying (1956). (...and I'm sure you guys do too, actually)
-
LOL Oh yeah. Bonnevilles have been considered by many as one of the best looking motorcycles ever made, and with the whole "proportions" thing very often mentioned as a major reason for it. And yep, those old single-leading shoe front brakes were pretty poor anchors alright. Had the same one of my old 1966 BSA 650cc Lightning back in the day. The later twin-leading shoe front brakes starting with the 1968 year models were a great improvement. (...gee, I wonder if Dave the OP of this thread might think so TOO???) LOL
-
Yeah, it could be her. Wonder what her name is/was? (...and yeah, sure, it's a 650cc Bonneville alright, and like I said up there, a 1966 year model ...I can tell because the '66's were the only year with white gas tanks and with the orange stripes that ran across the top of it...see?!...I know even more about Triumph motorcycles than I do about unicorns!) LOL
-
I once googled the phrase "fiery wench", and lo and behold, a picture of Susan Hayward popped up on my computer screen! (...naah, not really of course, but I've never seen any actress play that type of role any better)
-
Didn't you recently tell me you once had an old Triumph like Dino's '66 Bonnie here?... (...can you make out who the blonde babe is riding pillion?...must have been featured in one of his Helm flicks)
-
LOL What was that line Bugs Bunny occasionally used in these sorts of situations? Oh, yeah. (..."I didn't know you CARED?!")
-
And ya know, I've occasionally had people tell me that I look like Lee Marvin too. (...especially when my hair is cut short)
-
LOL And I'M more the Derek Flint fan, and primarily because James Coburn so closely resembles, well...ME! (...or maybe the other way around, anyway)

Btw here Moe, and regarding your first two sentences in this earlier reply of yours to me... First, perhaps my earlier comments regarding this issue might have "mirrored" those of No.44, but tell me here. What would be factually or historically inaccuate about them? You make it sound as if you think people attempting to get into the U.S. are doing it for no other reason than to just do it, and that the idea of bettering their existence plays no part in their decision. What, you think his successor's description of these people was more accurate, perhaps? (...and secondly, I hope you know that unicorns haven't existed since they were having too much fun playing their little unicorn games and thus missed being aboard Noah's large floating vessel...well, according to the Irish Rovers anyway, and which is probably "revisionist" as well) -

Nope, I don't. And 'cause it's too damn COLD up that way, DUDE!!! Ever wonder why there's STILL no good Mexican food to be found north of the 49th Parallel??? (...THAT'S why!!!) LOL -

And which NOW reminds me of another song that my WWII veteran father who was originially from Indianapolis used to occasionally sing whenever the topic of Texas would come up during my youth. It was a little ditty he said he used to march to while being stationed in Fort Bliss, TX during the Spring of 1942 for his basic training in anti-aircraft gunnery. It's to the tune of "Mademoiselle from Armentieres" and it went like this: Texas is a hell of a state, parlay-voo Texas is a hell of a state, parlay-voo Texas is a hell of a state, the armpit of the 48 Hinky-Dinky, parlay-voo (...of course "the armpit" wasn't really the body part he said they'd march to, but I felt I better clean it up a bit for posting this here) LOL -
Uh-huh! I can see it all now... "STELLA!!! Would you mind bringing me my bottle of Cognac, dear?"

Ah, but then again and on the OTHER hand here Cid, you DO know that one of the primary reasons for this "border crisis", is what the United States has DONE with those aforementioned states since they were "stolen" for Mexico and the subsequent economic booms which took place within each of them over the years, and in stark contrast to the economy of Mexico, don't ya?! NOT that the notion of "money is the end-all and be-all of everything in the world" you understand, BUT I seriously doubt the standard of living in those states would be nearly to the level that it presently is IF Mexico had retained them. In other words, why do you think so many good hard working people from south of the border attempt flee their own country and enter our country? And nope, I'm not bein' some jingoistic flag-waver here. Just lookin' at the facts here, that's all. (...and btw and regarding Mr.Sixes' posting of the "Forget the Alamo" link...this was nothing new to me and have known of this take on Texas history for years now, and from the very first have thought it a very plausible and fair-minded view of what really was most likely the underlying cause for those Texas boys down there seeking their independence from Mexico...uh-huh, the idea that those boys down there wanted their "freedom" and so they could enslave others to do their work for them, and as it was done in the then soon to come southern Confederacy) -
And speaking of which... Last night I noticed while watching the old MGM theatrical trailer for the 1955 musical It's Always Fair Weather which TCM is going to show next week during Cyd Charisse's SOTM tribute, there was a scene in which Dolores Gray sings the following line: "But I've gotta guy who's Clifton Webb and Marlon Brando combined." (...interesting combination, wouldn't ya say?!)

Btw, you guys DO know that this whole "cancel culture" thing almost ALWAYS goes hand-in-hand with being a freakin' political ideologue, don't ya?!!! And, regardless with which side of that spectrum this type self-identifies. YOU know, one of the two most dangerous damn types in the world, along with those freakin' religious fanatics out there! (...yeah, okay sure...I knew the enlightened assembled around here would know all this...just checkin', that's all) -

Well sure Sepia, these guys were also participating in a "cancel culture" manner too back then. But you have to remember here that these guys were just tryin' to "keep us from becomin' like those godless Commie Ruskies over there", and you know what they say about there bein' no limits when it comes to the defense of freedom, don't ya?! Just ask any ol' archconservative you might know. They'll tell ya! (...of course though, they'd never think of NOR tell ya that they ever thought of THIS sort'a thing as being any sort'a "cancel culture" thing, ya know) -

Considering that the 1960 movie John Wayne directed and starred in was about this battle, isn't it ironic that the point of the above article (though actually an argument against it) was also very memorably and concisely included in another movie the guy starred in just a couple of years later...
