...One's legacy is made up of many things.

Uh-huh, that's true. Take for instance my neighbor's Legacy which is made of many things such as an engine and bodywork and wheels and an interior at the Subaru factory in Lafayette Indiana.

AND,  the only reason I replied to this with this lame little joke was because I'm still waiting for your response to my above post. You know, the one up there about how fat boy will still be "fair game" to talk about around here after he continues to insinuate his fat butt within our country's Body Politic?!

And if no response IS to come, then I'll take it that I was successful in my attempt to get you to understand the errors in thought which you posted within it.

(...well, it's either THAT, or that you've very recently placed me on your ignore function) ;)

So true.    Like some of the morons with TDS at this forum;   they will continue to talk about how bad Trump was for the rest of their lives.

Trump was indeed the worst President in US History (IMO),  but only those with stage 4 TDS,  have the need to bring up all of Trump's many follies,  over, and over, and over, and over again.   AND if one doesn't mention these over and over and over again,   these clowns assume one might be in Trump's camp.

Yeah, but in the MEANTIME here James, we STILL have approximately 24 hours as I type this here to express ALL our collective thoughts about how bad a POTUS fat boy was and WHILE the SOB is STILL in office!

And so, PLEASE don't be a freakin' wet blanket here until AFTER fat boy's GONE, dude!

(...and besides, I have a feelin' here that I'll be one of those people at this forum who might OCCASIONALLY bring up fat boy's name after he leaves the White House, but NOT because I'm a "moron" nor suffer from "TDS", but because and as I think YOU know, fat boy ISN'T "going away peacefully or quietly" and as have all previous Presidents have done in MY lifetime...and so because fat boy WILL continue to insinuate his fat butt within the Body Politic of this country, he'll be FAIR GAME within this forum's discussions ANY damn time he DOES...and you DAMN well know that he WILL, and because YOU aren't a "moron" EITHER!)

note: this is one of the most beautiful songs i have ever heard

also note: i chose this video because the THUMBNAIL PHOTO FOR IT SPEAKS 1,000 WORDS, however the accompanying images in the video are of RONNIE and the RONETTES performing.

Well, SOME of those 1,000 words here Lorna are saying to me that this thumbnail photo makes the creepy little dude in his younger days, looked a lot like Pat Sajak.

One other thing both Rear Window and The Window were based on Cornell Woolrich stories. Witness to Murder seems to be ripping off Woolrich also. Come to think of it I think there's a fourth film with a similar plot of a crime observed through a window but the title escapes me.

That's probably because that fourth one has a real long title CJ, and so it's perfectly understandable that the title of it escapes you here.

It was 1958's Witnessing a Murder from the Window in the Rear.

(...but now who starred in it is "escaping" ME, but I THINK one of 'em was that guy who you'd always see guesting on the old Perry Mason show...YOU know, what's-his-name!)

By the way, do we know that much about Jakieboy?  All I have seen, back when I actually read his posts, was once when he spoke of spending time in a gated community on the Gulf Coast of MS.  Resident, guest or groundskeeper?

Yeah, ya know Cid, I think I also remember our good ol' backwater southern boy once breaking with his usual M.O. of copying and pasting off the internet, and a few years back posting a picture of himself in a little boat while fishing on some lake or backwater bayou down there.

In fact and surprisingly, I even think I recalled him actually posting some of his own WORDS above or below that picture when he posted it.

(...but don't quote me on this as this WAS quite a few years back ya know, and so I couldn't swear to that...the last part about him posting his "own words" that is)

This will be over in the next couple of days.  Lets see how the next 4 goes.  Biden knows he'll have to tread lightly if the democrats wants a bright future after 2024.

Message to conservatives, it's a bit too soon to jump out of 80 story windows in a panic.

Yes, true, but PLEASE conservatives out  there, STILL consider jumping out of a SECOND story window, as doing something like this having much more survivable consequences, just MIGHT at long last knock some SENSE into some of those damn hard heads of yours!

  7. Re one of good ol' boy Jake's little cut and paste offerings up there. The one where it shows little Rand Paul's spouting the following:

"They will destroy the Republican Party if the leadership is complicit with an impeachment or if leadership votes for an impeachment."

Eeeh, don't you worry about THIS here Jake, you good ol' backwater boy, you!

Nope, and because as I type this out here, I'm SURE much of the leadership of the Republican party is now sitting cowardly in many a back room throughout this country and attempting to devise WHOLE NEW WAYS to keep the participation in our elections as low as possible.

And because of course, THAT right THERE you good ol' backwater southern boy you,  the FACT that MORE people FINALLY got off THEIR fat apathetic butts in this country and actually voted, and NOT some damn stupid and FALSE idea that your fat boy Donny was "robbed", WAS the PRIMARY reason that your fat boy was legitimately DEFEATED in this past election.

And so CHEER UP here Jake, you good ol' backwater southern boy you, and because I'll BET your damn Republican leadership WILL somehow come up with new ways to keep the larger MAJORITY of this country's electorate's voices from being heard in the future, and with their thoughts and rationale being that even still having only TWO out of every THREE legitimate voters casting a ballot in this past election is STILL way too many people being involved in our electoral process.

(...uh-huh, CHEER UP, you good ol' backwater southern boy you, as who KNOWS?...maybe they'll come up with something very similar to how for so many years you good ol' backwater southern boys down there were able to keep black folks from voting)

Going to the Forum for a concert.    Yea,   the only time I was ever busted,  was as a minor,  going to a Blue Oyster Cult concert when L.A. had police chief Ed Davis.   (most of us young punks just called him Adolf since he was hardcore).

But I wasn't charged,  since it was an illegal search and seizure.      I just keep repeating parts of the US Constitution until my legal guardian, who was "cool" picked-me up.  The cops were glad to get me out of there!

So then it sounds as if you never made that concert then, eh?!

(...and if not, then I guess my asking if they played with enough cowbell that night would be a complete waste of my time here then, huh)  ;)

Yeah well, tell ya what here, Eric.

When you hear MeTV is getting around to showing what's by far THE best and THE funniest cartoon take on this whole 40 Thieves thing, namely Ali Baba Bunny (1957), gimme a heads-up here, would ya?!

Yeah, I'll bet that was back when Officer Malloy had been temporarily assigned to the Hollenbeck Division, and before the Christopher Commission would change their ways of doing things there.

(...and which now leads me to the following question: What the hell was a nice Orange County boy like you doin' in that seedy part of town at the time anyway???)  ;)

put it in the same league as Rear Window. The latter is a pretty close to perfect while the former is

a good take on your standard crime flick.

Good point, but in this case probably best explained by the thought that his character was taking night courses at UCLA in order to get his law degree.

  12. I've only ever watched the first one and that was years ago.

Thought it was an okay little comedy, but definitely geared to people of more tender years.

(...and due to all the characters in it, and especially the two inept would-be burglars, being so outrageously over-the-top)

...I will say that George Sanders gives a fabulous performance.  The scene where his character, in talking-villain mode, starts spouting German to Babs is supremely creepy.   Lots of eerie shots -- the wind-swept apartment canopy, plus certain camera angles.   But the mental ward was a bit over the top for me -- quite campy, in fact.

And which I believe may be the only time in any film in which I've ever witnessed George going bombastically ballistic while delivering his dialogue, albeit with those words being said in German and as your stereotypical crazed Nazi.

(...nope, seems to me even when he's losing his cool in some movie, he's always had this unique ability to both talk under his breath and yet still at the same time project his words, and which then still quite effectively convey the emotions behind them)

  15. After I became aware of the unsavory and downright offensive comments that Tor Johnson once made about Encino California, I tweeted that I wanted ALL traces of the man cut from Plan 9 From Outer Space.

(...however, this in turn caused a grassroots counter-movement to commence which I understand was spearheaded by some retired math teacher from back east, and so my efforts went nowhere)

  18. Trump’s Far-Right Extremist Army Has Finally Turned On Him, Now Calling For His Execution

Trump's Far-Right Extremist Army Has Finally Turned On Him, Now Calling For His Execution (thegailygrind.com)

After reviewing thousands of messages across online havens for MAGA extremists, including Gab, CloutHub, MeWe, Telegram and far-right message boards such as 8kun, Huffpost found that “a growing minority of the president’s once-devout backers are now denouncing him and rejecting his recent pleas for peace. Some have called for his arrest or execution, labelling him a ‘traitor’ and a ‘coward.’ Alarmingly, many of those who are irate about Biden’s supposed electoral theft are still plotting to forcibly prevent him from taking office – with or without Trump’s help.”

“We don’t follow you,” another Telegram user wrote, addressing Trump, after the president put out his video urging calm and order. “Be quiet and get out of our way.”

“It has become apparent that now – after his mass radicalization campaign of voter-fraud disinformation and conspiracy-mongering – even Trump can’t stop the dangerous delusion he’s instilled across the country, or the next wave of violence it may soon bring,” HuffPost reports.

Among the recent messages excoriating Trump in dedicated pro-Trump networks: “tbh I hope they hang Trump at this point”; “He deserves what’s coming to him”; “he is literally done he will die in jail”; “Seriously hoping they’ll lock him up or lynch [him]”; “Guy is the biggest cuck ever at this point”; “Can’t wait til the left locks up his **** ****. Rot in prison.” Several people have proclaimed that at this point, Trump can only redeem himself by declaring martial law to maintain power by force.

It also seems that even the pro-Trump Proud Boys are losing faith in Trump: A Telegram channel run by the group reposted a message with Trump’s video along with the text “The Betrayal of Trumpist base by Trump himself continues.”

So, does this latest little turn-of-events remind anyone else here of the penultimate scene in The Lion King, and where the evil and devious Scar's final fate is being fatally confronted by his former loyal gang of hyenas?...

(...and with perhaps the ONLY difference here being that I don't think Scar's mane was a comb-over)

Are you referring to the band?  Goodness why on Earth did they chose such a bizarre name that's guaranteed puns.

(Maybe if they called themselves something else i.e. ....and the Defibrillators? ;))

Sorry here, ham (at the risk of making MM think I'm being "weak"...LOL) BUT I have NO idea what or who you're referencing here.

You see, MY reference up there when I said to Tom "that certain British actor" was a reference to an actor whose most notable performances were probably in films such as Room at the Top and The Manchurian Candidate. And, I only used that vague description of him because Tom has told us in the past that he despises the guy SO much that he prefer people never use his name around here. AND thus, it being my little inside joke to him within my previous posting.

(...so, what or who were YOU referencing here???)

  20. Now, it's not that I'm now coming to the defense of John Wayne here, as the idea of some damn verbose so-called "super-patriot" has always induced a BIG roll of the eyes in me, but yes, because by the time this country was thrust into WWII, the then 34 y/o Wayne had fathered 2 children and thus his draft classification of 3-A was indeed proper and warranted.

And I bring this up solely because the names of Clark Gable and Jimmy Stewart, two men who it could rightly be said did their patriotic duty during WWII, BUT who I'm sure would have BRISTLED at the thought of being called a "super-patriot",  were brought up earlier in this thread.

And, it's now my contention that this would be an unfair practice to compare these two and their circumstances with that of Wayne's, as both Gable and Stewart at this time were NOT "family men". Clark Gable as we know had been newly widowed with no children after his wife Carole Lombard had died in a plane crash, and Jimmy Stewart at this time was known as one of Hollywood's "most eligible bachelors".

(...bottom line here...while I can certainly understand the reasons for some to call Wayne "hypocritical" in this regard, I would never assume the man to have been a "coward" for how his life played out during this wartime era)

I don't have a good copy of Triumph Of The Will, but for quite some time I've been chipping away at a sound version of Metropolis, complete with "borrowed" synth music, in lieu of any of my own, and lots of sound effects.  Would probably give Giorgio Moroder a splitting headache.  I'm approaching it from a different angle by going through it scene by scene backwards.  So I have most of the action scenes done.  I'm way behind schedule though.  No word in Triumph Of The Will.  😁

Hmmm...ya know MCOH, now ya got me wondering here if when you DO get around to playing Triumph of The Will backwards, if it'll turn out anything like that old joke about playing a country music song backwards (and where the guy gets his wife, his dog and his pickup truck back) and if it'll show Germany winning World War II ???

(...please let me know the results when you get around to this...I'll be waiting here with as they say 'bated breath' in the interim) ;)
