Yeah, but then again you know how those Frenchies are, don't ya dark?! Always with that whole "ooo" and "twah" stuff that the women all eat up for some strange reason!!! (...to say NOTHIN' of all those superfluous "U"s them there folks use when they spell certain words, and just like them there folks who live across that there channel from 'em!!!) LOL -

I think the French have a word for it, Holden: "outré"! -

Yes, I did, actually...move away from my little joke, that is, as "THAT" topic is something that not only doesn't "fit in" around here, but any continuation of it will almost assuredly result in someone not seeing my joke for what it was, but would also almost assuredly result in someone standing on a soapbox and "going off" and thus almost assuredly would result in a little intervention by our resident Admin. (...however, I DO believe the topic of children actors and their history of sometimes being used and abused by their parents and movie producers MIGHT be germane to this thread) -

Hmmmm...oh, I dunno. The Coyotes who help take 'em across the border, maybe??? LOL (...sorry...I just couldn't help bein' a little "topical" here...and so what say we move on) -

"Hey! Wassamatta you people, huh?! You'a forget'a 'bout me and'a my Papa when'a we look'a for his'a stolen'a bicycle in Roma or'a somethin'?!" (...Enzo Staiola was his'a name'a, btw) -
During her recent appearance at the Sedona Film Festival and after having a member of the audience ask her about working on "McLintock!", Stefanie Powers admitted she developed a major crush on Patrick Wayne during that shoot. (...no word though if that might've been 'cause Stefanie, MY first crush, likes gettin' spanked or not)
-
Yeah...well...I thought it was SO mean of Bob to mention Kay's little problem with pronouncing the letter "R" in his intro of RAFFLES last night! (...didn't you too, Hibi?!) LOL

Hmmmm...kinda sums up the feelings I've had for a certain Christmas perennial about a guy who wishes he was never born and since I first started watching it YEARS before NBC jumped on the bandwagon and purchased the rights to show it every year! (...yep, I ALWAYS knew Capra was doin' what he was doin', but DANG IT, I fall for that flick of his every single time 'cause it's done SO darn well) -

Well, speaking of "manipulative" here...I sat through the saccharine SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY a couple weeks back during this Maureen O'Hara SOTM thing goin' on for her this month, and I gotta say I THOUGHT little Connie Marshall was better and more believable than either Maureen, John Payne OR Bill Bendix in that flick! -
Eeh! Just another example of that old DuPont Company slogan, "Better Living Through Chemistry", that's all!
-
Yeah, I suppose so, laffite. And so, is it raining at this bus stop? (...'cause if it IS, then..ahem.."I say, please share my umbrella"!)
-
Wait a minute here, MissW..."him/her/SELF"??? I don't understand THIS at all here! I mean, isn't THIS sorta thing what makes that old joke about, "Why does a dog..well..YOU know...'cause he CAN!", so ironically funny??? (...man, has THIS thread ever gone off the deep end now, EH?!) LOL
-
Hmmmm...interesting premise here..."Kid"(wink, wink), however I've never noticed any of these "anachronisms" any time I've watched this film. As I believe MissW or maybe it was Swithin pointed out earlier, adultery is as old as the hills(or maybe the Ural Mountains might be more appropriate here) , and I still think the basic problem with this movie is that the two leads who commit the adultery are just sooooo damn BOR-ing! (...and have little chemistry, as I said much earlier in this thread)
-
Yeah, I too can't say I "hate it", as I've always felt the cinematography is excellently done. However, perhaps primarily because I've felt the thin romance storyline of which I've never picked up on any real "chemistry" going on between the two leads, I've pretty much thought of this film as one of Lean's "lesser efforts". (...in fact, I've always thought of this story as sort of an "Ashley and a slightly nicer Scarlett had run off together during the political upheaval of their own country", and without a more bolder central character(i.e. Rhett) it pretty much equals "BOR-ing")

Your favorite movie quote to end any conversation.

Ooooh, now Clint has some good ones of course, Rich. My favorite: "A man's gotta know his limitations." - from MAGNUM FORCE -
Being an avid motorcyclist, I remember watching the TV movie PRAY FOR THE WILDCATS (1974) when it first aired, and a story in which Andy Griffith would make a return to playing an unseemly bad guy(as in his Lonesome Rhodes) and who among William Shatner, Robert Reed and Marjoe Gortner(you remember him...the wacko in "Earthquake") take off on a long motorcycle venture and wherein mayhem ensues.

Well, if we're gonna talk "Julie Harris" here... I can't think of anyone else who would have been better than her as "Nell" in THE HAUNTING, and which was my first exposure to her years and years ago.
-
Yeah, you know. Like how finance keeps himself in such good shape. (...that was my reference here...just thought you'd get it)
-
Gotta say, Roger DOES keep himself in pretty good trim. (...say, ya think he does that there Spinning Class thing TOO???)
-
LOL (...yeah...riiiiiiight)
-
Wait! YOU "negative", GayD??? (...lady, if YOU'RE "negative" than I'M "the world's biggest cynic"...and I know THAT ain't true even in THIS microcosm of the world around HERE!!!) LOL
-
Yeah, well, considering these short rations of "Likes" we're allowed, one must always remember to never waste any of 'em by liking one of their own posts....and which I saw one guy do around here recently! LOL (...but I'm certainly NOT going to name names here, of course!)
-
Well, that's what Roger looked like that last time I saw him and Pete in concert, anyway! (...and unfortunately, just like Sir Paul, I THINK it might be time for 'em to hang it up...none of 'em can hit even close to those high notes anymore)
-
Hmmmm...like sounds like Shatner's (in)famous take on "Rocket Man" to me, Holden!
