For me it would be Rita Hayworth - she was incredibly beautiful.
When I was a kid I was the "spitting image" of Shirley Temple, but now I don't really look like anyone in old Hollywood.

Dr. Bronson's revolutionary "hug therapy" sessions gained wide appeal, from behind the closed doors of the rich and famous to the sidewalks of the common masses.

Has "A Day at the Races" (Marx Brothers) been mentioned?
"Get your Tootsie Frootsie ice cream!!" - I love that scene.

...And the three unfortunate victims ran smack dab into the gang of ticklers, waiting for them.

It was an emotional, dramatic, and well-staged reunion for the male members of the Schmegeggie family.

Right, Lav. Remember the days when our parents complained about their aches and pains and eyesight and how we used to roll our eyes? Ah, sweet karmic revenge, LOL!

*Technology now makes it so much easier -- no lines, no depth perception issues. You'll feel like you have brand new eyeballs!*
That's comforting (I'll be darned if I'm forced to wear "granny glasses" before I hit 50). Yep, I was imagining that my next step would be reading glasses over my contact lenses, but still, SIGH, it's just another reminder... I told my friend I'd do that in another 10 years, but somehow I didn't sound too credible...

I can understand the confusion, though. His backside was so massive one would think there was more than one.

I did take a look at that, VP. In general, I preferred Ebert's writing style over Kael's.

Alan Young and Mr. Ed were rivals throughout the run of the series, and battled daily.... After the show was finally cancelled, friends of Young were suspicious when they saw a bottle of glue proudly displayed in Alan's house...

The secret was eventually revealed: Mr. Ed could talk on his own, Wilbur could not.

I haven't heard his DVD commentary for *Citizen Kane*, but I enjoyed looking at his "The Great Movies" series of books. RIP.

Missionary work turned out to be anathema for this trio, who went on to more exciting pursuits.

Yes, as soon as I saw Verna Felton's picture I thought of that same "I Love Lucy" episode.
She was in a couple of them and was feisty in both. -
*Too bad I didn't read your post last night. I just blasted a roach this morning.*
Shame on you. What would Doris say?
-
*......unless the principal animals for which she is an advocate are rats and roaches.*
Aw, roaches have feelings, too.

-
Any actress who happens to be a major advocate of animal rights can't be all that bad.
Happy Birthday, Doris Day. -
*Or, they could have alternated between a Day movie and Brando movie. However bi-polar that would seem.*
LOL! Now that would be an unusual lineup!

LOL! You're so right, James, I left out that key word "look".
Ah, that's how it is for me on early Monday mornings...
