I'm sure there's a Volume 2, but maybe the publishers want to monitor sales of Volume 1 first (and maybe they'd make more money promoting it this way, as two different books). Stanwyck arguably hit her big stride starting in the early 40s, so there's much left to cover. I hope the first volume sells well, since Stanwyck isn't exactly a household name these days, except to classic film fans.

I've read she's been working on it for more than a decade, so we'll see. Wilson is a publishing executive, so I hope the book will be more than an exploitation/hatchet job:

The poster LadyE mentioned this book in the "Stanwyck Star of the Month" thread, but it's great to bring it up again. I'm REALLY looking forward to reading it. The most recent book on her by Dan Callahan that came out last year was a disappointment. -
