:^0 It's not that Ozzy's such a bad guy, really. It's just that he's the Antichrist.
But more seriously, thank you for talking about the Persuaders and the Prentenders. Here's that song:
Persuaders:
Pretenders:

Hey, where'd everybody go? ?:|
I hate Ozzy Osbourne with a passion, but sometimes I like listening to this song:

Hail, Tom! As an ardent dog lover, here is a thread that has been long overdue.
I mentioned in another thread that Asta was a scene-stealer in *The Awful Truth*, and I stick by that. Our focus is supposed to be on Grant and Dunne, and then out of nowhere here comes this dog who catches our attention with his wonderful tricks. He's adorable just to look at. Pure charisma.

I used to have a terrier, not a fox terrier, but he was as cute and smart as Asta!
-
Asta was among the greats.
He was also in *The Awful Truth* as Mr. Smith, the object of a courtroom custody battle between Lucy and Jerry Warriner. He stole that movie, too. -
*I'm going to school and majoring in film*
Good for you. I've no doubt you'll do very well!

audrey, in reading all your posts I've been frequently impressed by how much you know about classic film at 18 years of age. You must have started taking notes as soon as you were old enough to write!

I'm coming around to liking Bette Davis a lot more, too.
I used to think she was over the top but the more films I see the more I appreciate her. She and Claude Rains are terrific together in *Deception*. A great acting team. -

I love Jack Carson. Recently I saw him in an informational short, as an extra on a DVD. It was about the importance of food conservation for the war effort. He was a magician, doing tricks (with the help of the camera, of course) to illustrate his points.

An obscure, non-Mick-fronted Rolling Stones song that I particularly like:

She didn't make that many...

My last list for the time being. I keep an active list of DVDs that I want to pick up. Here are my Top 10, in no order (note that all of these movies I've already seen; now I want to "own" them):
1. Elmer Gantry
2. Strange Cargo
3. Key Largo
4. Three On a Match
5. Nightmare Alley
6. City Lights (will they ever re-issue this?)
7. Men in White
8. The Heiress
9. Mutiny on the Bounty
10. The Caine Mutiny
-
No, I haven't seen that one!
Honorable mention goes to *20,000 Years in Sing Sing*. That's my #11.

Bette's someone I've grown to like a lot. She used to annoy me with what I called her "hamminess", and I still don't like all of her films (e.g. Mr. Skeffington), but there are others that are great.
-
I do like Katharine Hepburn - well, the movies I've listed, I like a lot, but I don't like as many movies of hers as I do of other actresses. I'm one of the few (I guess) who doesn't like Bringing up Baby, and others didn't really make a strong impression on me (Keeper of the Flame, Holiday, etc.).Actually, when I went through her filmography on IMDB, I was struck by how many movies of hers I haven't seen...
As said, I like her best with Tracy. I always felt Tracy was the perfect counterpart who kind of "balanced her out" well with his solid, understated presence. I like the repartee between the two.
-
I love "lists" threads. Here are a few of my "Top Tens".

-
Yeah, but I like her anyway.
(joking... joking... joking...)

*171*
Looking at the photo, the viewer may ask: Why such a phony smile on Davis' face? Only the true movie insiders knew that concealed in her left hand was a finely-sharpened switchblade...
-
...and Thelma Ritter! Heck, maybe we can stretch it on through September.
-
It's so odd... I saw Tony Martin just last night in *Banjo On My Knee*, a movie I hadn't seen in a long time. I was listening to him and thinking about what a nice voice he had.
-
*a few sheets to the wind*
LOL! I haven't heard that expression in years!!
-
And the dinner scenes!! Poor thing!!!
