(See what I did there? 😉) Sean Connery -- Rolex, Breitling, and a Gruen said to be from his personal collection Geroge Lazenby -- Rolex Roger Moore -- mostly Seiko quartz digital, but also a Hamilton Pulsar and Rolex Timothy Dalton -- Tag Heuer, Rolex Pierce Brosnan -- Omega Daniel Craig -- Omega (Peter Sellers wears a Rolex; don't remember seeing a watch on David Niven.) Thanks for humoring me. There is a lot of product placement I might not notice, but I always see the watches!

Thank you, NoShear! I had kind of forgotten about Browning, but it was good to think about him again. A truly multi-talented fellow. Since we were just thinking about product, shall we talk watches? So many people I talk to think James Bond wore only a Rolex in the films, perhaps because Fleming puts a Rolex on Bond's wrist in the books. So, what other watches does Bond wear?

Voit provided gear in exchange for product placement. It was Connery's Bond in Thunderball (1965), and it was David Hedison's Captain Crane in Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1964-1968). Ricou Browning was second unit director of the underwater sequences in Thunderball. As he was responsible for all the staging/choreography of underwater scenes -- the cave scene, the battle -- he brought in his own team of divers. Browning had already made a name for himself in Hollywood, most notably as the Gill Man in Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954), and as co-writer and producer of Flipper (1963). He's a cool guy, still with us at 91 years of age.
