From John le Carré's 1963 novel of the same name, it's The Spy Who Came In from the Cold (1965), directed by Martin Ritt and starring Richard Burton, Claire Bloom, Sam Wanamaker, and Oskar Werner. It's le Carré's third novel, the one with which he really exploded onto the scene. I think his first two novels were written under a pseudonym, which I would expect as he was working at MI5/6 in the 50's and 60's.

    Lee Patrick was in The Snake Pit (1948) with Celeste Holm.

    Celeste Holm was in Bachelor Flat (1961) with Tuesday Weld.

    Tuesday Weld was in Rally 'Round the Flag, Boys! (1958) with Paul Newman.
