  1. Dirk Bogarde starred in Agent 8 3/4 (1964) and Modesty Blaise (1966), while James Coburn did a spoofy spy turn in Our Man Flint (1966) and In Like Flint (1967). I think Bogarde would have been a much better Bond than was George Lazenby, but the pity is that his "proclivities" would never had permitted. He certainly had the looks and suavity though.
  2. Holiday in Spain [Scent of Mystery] (1960)
  3. Sorry. I didn't mean to offer one that was tricky. Your thread. Arthur Miller Arthur Hiller Arthur Hoyt
  4. Bingo, Peebs! I'm sorry to reference such a dreadful film, but it just goes to show how universal is the desire to be like Jimmy James Bond. Your thread.....
  5. The Place Beyond the Winds (1916)

  8. Whispering City (1947) Berlin Express (1948) Las Vegas Shakedown (1955) While the City Sleeps (1956) Chicago Confidential (1957) Portland Exposé (1957) Pool of London (1951) The Frightened City (1961) Kansas City (1996) -- worth seeing for the musical score
  9. Thanks, NoShear! Two villains in the Get Smart spy spoof The Nude Bomb (1980) feature traits that are suggestive of Bond villains. Can you name them?
  10. I'd say that's the Pan Am "Orion" carry-on flight bag.
  11. Holiday Affair (1949) -- another war widow lead Next: An Affair to Remember (1957) -- more Christmastime romance
  12. Loretta Young Next: starred in an Edward Albee play adaptation
  13. The Enchanted Hill (1926) The Virginian (1929) Only the Brave (1930) Paramount on Parade (1930) Next: Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis
