“I tell you, this Patty Duke’s sexy. Remember the theme song? ‘Patty likes to rock and roll, a hot dog makes her lose control.’ There’s a date I want. ‘Bartender, I’ll have a vodka and tonic, and a Hebrew National for the young lady and keep them comin’.”
Yeah, I kinda had a small crush on Patty for a while.
I'll add:
MARY BADHAM
BRANDON DeWILDE
JANE WITHERS
TOMMY RETTIG

Y'know JAMES, I have a similar issue with the "role model" thing. You know...
People pointing out some actor's or actress' (and sports figures') personal behavior not being a good "role model" for their children. If I were such a celebrity I'd feel much put upon by this. I mean.....
I've already raised MY children, Please don't expect me to raise YOURS as well.

Not a very stellar career for this mostly unknown actress(who quit acting 57 years ago!)
But happy birthday to her regardless.

Does this mean that instead of roaring, Leo the lion is just gonna have that dopey smile on his face?

Yeah, I can kind'a see this, Sepia.
(...fodder for the "Lookalike" thread, perhaps?...or was that what you meant by "an earlier thread" here?)
I think it probably might have been. But then it too might have been a thread about Ms. Hiller.

I'd say Hiller was perfectly cast then.
Funny thing about her is that in some of her films I find her quite attractive and then in others I think she's rather plain and even a bit unattractive.
(...and I'll bet when she played Catherine Sloper on stage, she attempted to look and project her appearence toward the latter, of course)
I mentioned in an earlier thread that in some films, and at certain angles, I saw a resemblance of Ms. Hiller to comedy actress JENNA ELFMAN. Who I certainly don't consider unattractive.

Yeah, I always thought he was kinds cool. And really not too bad of an actor.

WOW! Gotta say here Sepia ol' chum that I'm surprised, first, that you never liked those three sitcoms you listed up there.
And secondly, that you apparently are one of those out there who's never realized that Gary Cooper WAS one of the finest film actors to ever grace the silver screen.
(...yup, he sure was...few actors have ever been able to express true human emotions through just their eyes as he could)
I never said I disliked Coop, just that I think he really wasn't that "great" of an actor.

And here's something that's borderline depressing for a lot of people (if you're in the same boat as I am). I just checked my statistics on what is considered a healthy look for people, and I, in fact, am considered obese. I've been overweight most of my life, but in many ways now, I feel like I'm in the best shape of my life too. I'm 62 and weigh 227 pounds, but I'm only 5-8. To get to a weight that would be considered normal and healthy, I'd have to get down to 169 pounds (and that's not happening!). To get to that specific weight and what would be considered an acceptable body mass index, I'd have to radically alter my diet, and I'm not inclined to do that. I don't eat a lot of meat really, and my vegetable intake has improved from what it used to be. Alcohol consumption is light to non-existent for me now, as coffee and water or cranberry juice are the beverages I drink the most. About the only sweet stuff I have is real maple syrup for those once-a-month pancakes I like to make and honey if I make a cup of green tea. The home workouts I do are challenging, but not spectacular. They usually last 50-60 minutes and afterwards, I usually have a protein shake to help supplement the lack of meat that I have. I also take creatine to help keep some size on my muscles, which for me anyway, have shown some decent growth in my advanced years, but this is fairly common for people that are new to weightlifting, regardless of your age. People who know me can tell the difference in the way I look now. My arms and shoulders are more meaty and less boney than they used to be, and my legs are showing less fat on them than in the past. I've been at this now for 18 months and intend to keep going as long as I can. When I started out in November, 2019, I tried doing push ups and stopped after doing 7 of them because I thought I was gonna die! Today, I regularly crank out 100 of them during my workouts (4 sets of 25). My form isn't the best on my push ups (I don't get down as low as I should), but considering how I was doing them when I started, I'll take any progress that comes my way.
I feel for ya. I'm in the same boat. But most of my weight gain is due to lack of mobility in the last few years due to spinal issues and a condition called Lymphedema. Since a mini stroke 7 years ago my diet has consistently been made up of "lite" this and that, "fat free" this and that and an extremely low sodium intake. So the more recent mobility issues can be the only reason for the weight gain me and my doctor can consider.

Sorry Darg, but I'm still unsettled as to what I think is the most UNfunniest "comedy" show ever. Three way tie between;
BIG BANG THEORY
SEINFELD
WILL AN GRACE
But you did say it's all a matter of opinion.
To the bad actors list I'd add...
ADOLPH MENJOU
GARY COOPER
PAT O'BRIEN(yeah, I know. Some kind of "icon" but face it. Had the range of a man with serious prostrate problems.
)

From what I understand, not all the scenes with Lugosi's character in them was it actually Lugosi IN them. Was that right?

Actually it was the first time I saw BUSHY HARE. Was the aboriginal character always that white?

I can't think of any less attractive actress that had the acting chops Olivia had that had anything close to the box office appeal. Shirley Booth was well known in New York for her solid stage work but she had yet to make a film and studios don't wish to take such risks with "A" level projects.
There were probably a LOT of less attractive actresses with Olivia's chops, and their being less attractive was probably why they had less "box office appeal". And despite Booth's record of solid stage work , her not being considered all that attractive was obviously why studios didn't want to take the risks.
With all this in mind, I wonder how many movies that were considered so-so or mediocre might have been better and/or done better at the box office if cast with less attractive actors or actresses in certain roles.

MEMPHIS BELLE interests me. I've seen it before but it's been a while. That single B-17 has fascinated me since I heard it was found overgrown by foliage and sunk deep in the mud on an island just off the Memphis Tenn. shore. Plus, I get interested in seeing any movie with the much unused and underrated MATTHEW MODINE or the equally underused and underrated BILLY ZANE.
Thanks for the listings

I'm not the OP. Here's the main Wiki page on the awards.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stinkers_Bad_Movie_Awards
From there you can navigate to the various years.
The web site went dark in 2007. You have to go to the Wayback Machine to get it.
Here's a snapshot of their 1978 listing, and you'll be pleased to see no extra "u" in dishonorable...
https://web.archive.org/web/20070506161815/http://www.thestinkers.com/1978.html
I know that Cinemainternational was the OP and I was asking him where he got all the near entire page of crap he posted. And mostly, I'd like to know WHY.

Come to think of it, on me and my wife's first real date (that wasn't a liaison) it was to a Dreyfuss movie. DOWN AND OUT IN BEVERLY HILLS ('86). But now, of course, I don't really remember much about the movie.

I'm more interested in why THIS thread as well hasn't been moved to the "Information Please" page.

OK. so they moved it. But this WASN'T intended as a game, nor a trivia pursuit. If the mods were as smart as they PRETEND to be, they maybe might have moved it to the "Information Please" page.
Hope you widdle whiners are happy.

I only watch this turkey if I'm out of sedatives. Hell, not only was the joke that Beatty's character had enough business acumen to run a salon, but also the talent. As I recall, every client of his all wound up with the same hair-do.

Yeah, I always thought that was a great scene. And speaking of Dreyfuss in JAWS....
Some years later, in the movie STAKEOUT; While on stakeout, Dreyfuss' character is playing a sort of trivia game with his partner(co-star EMILIO ESTEVEZ) in which one says a line from a movie and the other must name the movie. When it was his partner's turn to feed the line, he gives the line, "Boating accident? THIS was no boating accident" from "Jaws". But Dreyfuss' character answered, "I don't know"

Then please post a link to the Wiki article you mention as when I looked up STINKERS on WIKI, none of that ton of crap in your OP appeared. Hell, I can't even find the WEB SITE.

I didn't, but outside of The Big Chill and Platoon I was never very familiar with Berenger's other work.
He did well in what was a pretty small part. I've never read the novel but I figured Atherton was supposed
to be the good/safe guy, a contrast to Gere and Berenger. He even liked hanging out with her family. He
was kind of on the dull side though. I wouldn't bring a book to read in a crowded, noisy bar. The Daily
News maybe.
Well, Atherton CAN certainly be dull!
And for a while, Berenger played TOMMY LEE JONES' brother in law on the soap ONE LIFE TO LIVE.
And if you recall, Atherton's character was also too "straightlaced" for Keaton's character. She got bored and moved on.
