  1. This is a good idea. Nominees shouldn't be punished for being concerned about traveling; they are in fact doing what we the public are being urged to do- not travel! Hubs in Europe and Asia makes more sense. Much can happen between now and April 25th on the COVID front. We could, in reality, face yet another order of severely reduced open facilities to the public.
  2. A few of Merle Oberon's beautiful hats from THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL:
  3. I love this ensemble; very smart. Jane was lovely- I always marvel at her magnificent eyebrows. Except.... those gloves! Is it just me, or do they look like dish washing gloves?
  4. Peter O'Toole's "Golden Helmet Of Mambrino"(which was, in reality, a shaving basin) from THE MAN OF LA MANCHA.

  8. Ginger Rogers wearing a few stylish hats: ...and a really nice head scarf:
  9. Happy centennial birthday to Dirk Bogarde, born Derek Niven van den Bogaerde in West Hampstead, London, England on March 28th, 1921!
  10. Great idea, David. They would make a nice spotlight any day of the week for the entire month (and there are plenty of them to air.) They could show many of the different interpreters of Holmes and Watson (even some of the British TV versions.) Fun!
  11. I love that big hat she wore in the baseball stadium scene in WOMAN OF THE YEAR which caused so much frustration to the men behind her who couldn't see the game. 😄
  12. Norma Shearer wore some really stylish hats during her reign:
  13. Her hats seemed to reflect her character's personalities in those films, didn't they? 😀
  14. I love this Gene Tierney hat, but don't know what film this is from. This one, I believe, is from LEAVE HER TO HEAVEN.
  15. I guess you're correct, LuckyDan. Those adjectives certainly would seem like better descriptions, but I still think they're handsome!
  16. I love this hat Rosalind Russell is wearing in this photo. Very chic!
  17. Actually, I do think of all three of these actors (Humphrey Bogart, Edward G. Robinson, Ernest Borgnine) as handsome. I also think Raymond Massey, Hume Cronyn and Eli Wallach were handsome. They were interesting looking and had great expression and to me that equates to being handsome.
  18. Happy centennial birthday to Simone Signoret, born Simone Henriette Charlotte Kaminker in Wiesbaden, Germany, on March 25th, 1921!
  19. Olivia de Havilland in CAPTAIN BLOOD looked like she really was about to attend the Easter Parade! I love the feathers on this one:
  20. I don't know if this is from a film, but check out this beautiful hat on beautiful Dorothy Dandridge
  21. ...and to make matters worse, during the month before the Oscars, many theaters show the nominated films/documentaries/animated films, but in many places theaters are just starting to reopen, so they are only showing new releases and only a few time per day.
  22. Would TCM be able to rent it for one of their Classic Film Festivals?
  23. Some of lovely Winona Ryder's different hats from THE AGE OF INNOCENCE. No hat in this one, but just look at that gorgeous dress!
  24. Jean Arthur had such a lovely hairstyle in THE MORE THE MERRIER, but I also love this hat she wears in the beginning of the film. I love this one, too. I believe it's from MR. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON.
