#Oscars Oscars_TheAcademy_2021.png "hubs" are being set up in London and Paris to help nominees there participate in person

This is a good idea. Nominees shouldn't be punished for being concerned about traveling; they are in fact doing what we the public are being urged to do- not travel!

Hubs in Europe and Asia makes more sense.  Much can happen between now and April 25th on the COVID front. We could, in reality, face yet another order of severely reduced open facilities to the public.

Thank you so much for the Sherlock Holmes movies.  They were great.  I still think that would make a great Spotlight sometime.

Great idea, David. They would make a nice spotlight any day of the week for the entire month (and there are plenty of them to air.) They could show many of the different interpreters of Holmes and Watson (even some of the British TV versions.) Fun! :)

But wouldn't you agree a better descriptor of what you're talking about would be to say they are attractive or appealing? To say they are handsome suggests they have conventional good looks.

I guess you're correct, LuckyDan. Those adjectives certainly would seem like better  descriptions, but I still think they're handsome! :)

Supposedly Bette Davis complained about having to kiss Edward G. Robinson in "Kid Galahad" because she thought he was really ugly.  Which he was, I guess.

The script for Marty also used "dog" pejoratively, which makes me squirm a bit, as does the episode of TAGS the OP referenced above...

Actually, I do think of all three of these actors (Humphrey Bogart, Edward G. Robinson, Ernest Borgnine) as handsome. I also think Raymond Massey, Hume Cronyn and Eli Wallach were handsome. They were interesting looking and had great expression and to me that equates to being handsome.

Ratings are gonna be brutal.  They've been going down rapidly of late anyway, all the ratings for coronavirus award shows have been dismal, and almost nobody has seen any of these movies.

...and to make matters worse, during the month before the Oscars, many theaters show the nominated films/documentaries/animated films, but in many places theaters are just starting to reopen, so they are only showing new releases and only a few time per day.

The Library of Congress has the only known surviving print, which has been preserved and has been loaned out for festival screenings. TCM would have to license the broadcast rights, which may take more effort and/or money than TCM programmers may want to spend.

Would TCM be able to rent it for one of their Classic Film Festivals?
