  1. I was looking for it, also. It appears TCM.com only will show the previous day on it's schedule, which is probably why HelenBaby2 was able to watch it on Friday. ?
  2. Yes, the actual actor was what gave me the "ah ha" moment. I wouldn't have guessed that, either. On a side note, that time clock on the screen and then the voice over warning toward the climax as Miriam prepares to enter the mansion was kind of a funny thing to have. I don't know what the director was thinking there. ?
  3. Deborah Kerr played three roles in THE LIFE AND DEATH OF COLONEL BLIMP: Edith Hunter, Barbara Wynne and "Johnny" Cannon.
  4. I watched it. I was surprised to find out who the actor was playing the "psycho" role. Maybe I'm just not very observant. Did anyone else have an "ah ha" moment?
  5. Rafiki to Simba in THE LION KING: "The past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it, or learn from it." What a wise mandrill! ?
  6. How about the cast of characters who played dual roles in THE WIZARD OF OZ? Ray Bolger- Hunk/the scarecrow Jack Haley- Hickory/the tin man Bert Lahr- Zeke/the cowardly lion Margaret Hamilton- Miss Gulch/ the wicked witch of the west and the always delightful Frank Morgan, who played the parts of Professor Marvel/The Wizard Of Oz/the gatekeeper/the carriage driver/the guard
  7. I love that film! It has aired on TCM. I watched it one early morning about a year ago. I love the sound effects whenever someone meets an untimely death.?
  8. *edited* PS- anyone know how to simply cancel a post?
  9. Happy Birthday remembrance to Robert Osborne , born on May 3rd!
  10. Yes!? Levant's daydream to "Concerto in F", with him conducting the orchestra, playing all the instruments, and being all audience members in AN AMERICAN IN PARIS is just as hilarious as this one.
  11. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Buster Keaton just might have taken the cake when it comes to playing multiple roles on film in THE PLAYHOUSE. Anyone know the exact number in that hilarious first half? I count 24 (and there's the 26 Busters in the program), but I may have missed a few.
  12. My favorite combo of dual role and director: Charlie Chaplin in THE GREAT DICTATOR!
  13. I had totally forgotten about that film! Bad fan!
  14. Danny Kaye was delightful as Edwin Dingle and Buzzy Bellew in WONDER MAN.
  15. Conrad Veidt played dual roles nine times! DIE NACHT AUF GOLDENHALL DER JANUSKOPF DIE BRUDER SCHELLENBERG DER STUDENT VON PRAG CARLOS AND ELISABETH THE MAN WHO LAUGHS NAZI AGENT SATANAS - multiple roles UMHEIMLICHE GESCHICHTEN- multiple roles
  16. Lon Chaney played dual roles five times ( seven, if you count both UNHOLY THREE films, but I don't, because the part of Mrs. O'Grady was a disguise.) Chaney played two characters in: A BLIND BARGAIN TREASURE ISLAND THE FLASHLIGHT MR. WU OUTSIDE THE LAW
  17. Tony Randall played seven roles in THE 7 FACES OF DR LAO.
  18. A townsperson to Tevye in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF: "Our forefathers have been forced out of many, many places at a moment’s notice." Tevye: "Maybe that’s why we always wear our hats."
  19. Mel Brooks played Moses, King Louis XVI, Comicus, Torquemada and Jacques in HISTORY OF THE WORLD PART 1.
  20. Did anyone catch ALONE IN THE DARK on April 29th, or perhaps had seen it another time? I felt it was an above average slasher flick. When it got to the point in the film where the pursued were at a complete loss of ideas as to how to escape, I thought it was handled well, as opposed to the normal slasher flicks where the victims make poor escape choices ( like the Geico commercial parody.?) I was trying to stay awake and watch, but when I'm tired, I tend to snooze and miss blocks of film time. So, I have a question, because I think I may have fallen asleep and missed something. The blond lady who came to the Dr's house to stay with his daughter until someone came home was murdered along with her boyfriend, yes? The police never find the two of them, even though they searched the house ( but not the bedroom apparently), yes? The daughter was already asleep when she arrived at the house. So, who called the police in the first place and why?
  21. ...Or, "Dude- I told you to put that cigarette out!"
  22. I'm not sure if I enjoyed that, or if it was just that I've never heard an ode to old shoes before! Definitely a different kind of musical than MGM's, Warner's, 20th Century's or RKO's. Now I'm intrigued; I want to see the rest of it!
