  1. I posted a brief blog yesterday on the film THE BODY SNATCHER, the Val Lewton/Robert Wise film that TCM aired yesterday. As of today, it remains STATUS: PENDING. What's up with that? cpeteshamus
  2. Does anyone know if THE MASK OF DIMITRIOS (1944) has become available on DVD? I am eager to add this film to my classic collection. Let me know.
  3. When I attempted to click on BLOGS, I got a message indicating that to proceed Google Chrome had detected malware. Has anybody else gotten this message? If so, any clues about how to circumvent it? I enjoy checking the latest blogs but I don't want to risk infecting my system. cpeteshamus
  4. Double Indemnity, The Big Sleep, The Killers (1946) & Murder, My Sweet. Pity it's only four as film noir is one of my favorites and I could list almost ad infinitum.
  5. Has anybody else logged-in to the CFU only to get the message 'this websites security certificate has been revoked' and wondered what the hell was up. Cpeteshamus
  6. I love TCM but I gotta admit they showed some pretty cheezy movies today; I'm just saying.
  7. Humphrey Bogart as Charlie Allnutt in THE AFRICAN QUEEN
  8. The conclusion of "Strangers on a Train" in which the carousel itself almost becomes demonic has to make it on this list, without a doubt. Still a remarkable closing sequence, which only served to be the icing on the cake of suspense.
  9. Thanks for your help, REDHarlow. Cpeteshamus
  10. A general message to anyone out there in the Union who can instruct an old man new to computers: how do you post photos (of movie stills, actors, etc.) in your posts? I would appreciate instruction; so many of you post great shots of actors and movie photos- and I just don't know how to do it. Your help would be appreciated. Cpeteshamus
  11. How about John Wayne's finest performance, as Ethan Edwards in "The Searchers?" (And how about the film itself? Is "Around the World in 80 Days" a better film than "The Searchers?")
  12. Bride of the Monster (hell, I start laughing during the credits).
  13. Bride of Frankenstein, The Black Cat, Nosferatu, White Zombie, The Mummy (1932), Island of Lost Souls
  14. "The Killers" is a rare film- pure noir. Easily in the top ten if not the top five list of noir. Everything clicks: cinematography, editing, direction, acting, music. A delight for fans of film noir.
