  1. So, he was basically doin' a Robert "James West" Conrad sorta thing in that flick, eh dark? (...sounds like it might be good TCM Friday Night fare)
  2. Yep, that's him alright, KD! So, I'll bet you knew this one all along, didn't ya!
  3. "Motorcycle for pleasure", ya say? McQueen ??? No, that can't be it. You said he isn't known as an actor. And besides, "The King of Cool" rode motorcycles in competition and not just for pleasure. (...man, this IS a tough one, alright!)
  4. No, actually I hadn't gone back to the Novak thread since I posted that little joke about "Viagra". Pretty weird coincidence that we'd both be bringing up Kilgallen's name here, huh! (...btw, for that "jaundiced eye" problem that darkblue said ya have in that thread, have you considered maybe tryin' to find some of Fred's "Eyeviagra"?...that MIGHT work to remedy ya of this affliction, ya know!)
  5. You didn't answer my question about the "Athlete" thing, dark.
  6. Yeah, but I THINK by the end of that flick, doesn't ol' Chuck say somethin' like..."I now love my mail-order bride SO much that they'll have to pry her from my cold dead hands!" (...well, it was SOMETHIN' like that anyway, RIGHT?!)
  7. Wow! Gotta say there sure seems a lot of contractions in your clue here, dark ol' buddy! So, am I correct in assuming that MAYBE because the person in question "isn't known as an actor, but is very very famous", that he MIGHT be known more for being in the field of Athletics? (...man, I'm startin' to feel like Arlene Francis and Dorothy Kilgallen are sittin' on each side o' me here!!!)
  8. Yep, Miles. I'd say there's a slight resemblance between Bud and Mr.Mander there. However, and don't ask me why, but speakin' of Bud and Lou's famous baseball routine, somehow Bud always reminded me of Leo Durocher. (...and like I said, don't ask me why...he just always did, that's all)
  9. Are you SURE??? I thought Marlowe was on FIRST! And of course THAT leaves Carlson on second! (...yep, I don't know...THIRD BASE!!!)
  10. WAIT! Am I seein' one of my favorite actors here? Gene Hackman?
  11. Well actually, I thought the whole point of Viagra is that once it kicks in, it doesn't matter WHAT ya see or HOW MUCH of what ya see turns ya on! (...yep, the whole "vision thing" all kinda beside the point, isn't IT?!)
  12. Yep, Miles. You're not the only one here. I too would often confuse the two of 'em, and maybe not only because of their similar appearance, but because their careers spanned about the same time, they often seemed to play the second male lead roles, and reached B-List status at most.
  13. Nope, not Fraiser's dad, Hibi. That tough lookin' dude would be actor Morgan Woodward, who you might remember as being especially menacing as "Boss Godfrey" in Cool Hand Luke.
  14. "Eyeviagra"?!!! Eye VEY! (...oops..I meant, Oy vey!)
  15. Ahem...excuse me here TB, but I do believe you left out one option in your question here...and THAT would being a "Comedy Cavalcade"! (...and of which as I'm sure you know, I often personally view TCM's forums as being!!!)
  16. NOT necessarily, dark! I mean, there ARE some older folks who maybe can't see very well anymore 'cause their eyelids are so saggy, and so they have that taken care of! Not to mention that whole "deviated septum" thing, so they opt for that cute little upturned "Nose Number 2" in the doctor's Rhinoplasty Catalogue. (...well, they can AT LEAST always use those as the excuse for these procedures anyway, ya know)
  17. Great point about Hitch's different relationships with his different leading ladies, lavender. This brings to mind TCM's recent Hitchcock's "filler segment" which shows a wide variety of opinions expressed about the gentleman, and which depending upon the source, runs the gamut from affection to almost a hatred of him.
  18. REALLY?! So, lemme guess here. Cesar Romero played Dave the Dude, RIGHT?! (...my second guess is gonna be Don Ameche...no, make that my FIRST guess!)
  19. Yeah, that's true. (...but there sure were a lot of old stars cruisin' around on that Love Boat and flyin' into Fantasy Island's little cove on that boatplane, weren't there?!)
  20. >That was when they were still casting older Hollywood stars in the show. That gradually ended over time....... Yeah, but NOT "over time". Ya see, I THINK I can pinpoint the EXACT time that that practice died. (...about the same time Aaron Spelling did!)
  21. I've always loved the scene in A Day at the Races where Harpo is trying to get Chico to say "Hackenbush". And now, least we forget another great comedian who created and named many a great character in film...one William Claude Dukenfield. (...otherwise known as...well YOU know)
  22. Well THAT of course is 'cause Ozzy is British, while our Bob is a good ol' American boy. (...and ya know how those Brits always spell stuff with that superfluous letter "u", RIGHT?!)
