Now, if THIS scene from Roger Corman's The Wild Angels doesn't best encapulate the feelings of watching a "guilty pleasure" movie, then I don't know what does! 'Cause not only is Peter Fonda's acting atrocious in it, but his words now seem so dated and laughable that ya just GOTTA "love" this one and almost ALL those old biker exploitation flicks made back in that era. (...though I suppose it helps if you've also always been into motorcycles like I have)

So, in essence you're sayin' this has less to do with any, say, "Stiff upper lip-ness" than it does with some, say, "blank stare-ness" aspect to the faces in question here. And so then I suppose your answer to my question as to why Whitman never became a bigger star might be that while I suggested he had "a face the camera likes", YOU and the Mrs(I believe Sans IS your Mrs. as I recall, right Cap?!) are NOT "cameras", and thus don't especially care for his face. (...and if that's about it, then as they say, "to each his own" I suppose, eh Cap ol' buddy?!)

Just finished watching the film out here in the west, and as it had been many years since my last viewing of this film which I also remembered as being "fun" and well-made overall, that is still my opinion of it. And so, with one of those faces "that the camera likes"(at least I've always thought so anyway), I've always wondered who's toes he might have stepped on while in The Biz in order to short circuit his career? Well dark, all I can say here is that I've never gone cryin' to the Admins about ANY thread. Nope, never. And, while I ALSO know what you're sayin' here about the kind of "warnings" which "some" people will occasionally insert into potentially "heated" threads(and of which I NEVER did in the "Wilson" thread), I have to say once again, that while I view almost EVERY frequent contributor to this website as a "cut above the Hoi polloi" in their abilities to communicate their thoughts in a civil manner on these potentially "hot button issues", and of which I believe the "Wilson" thread was a prime example of such excellent behavior...none the less, I suppose it STILL all comes down to what the Admin will ultimately believe violates "The Rules" around here, doesn't it. Yep, my opinion is that while the "That was Quick!" thread began to venture into too many opinions expressed about the Politicos of recent times, the "Wilson" thread had stayed on course and for the most part didn't venture into "Soap Box" territory. And thus, I think it's a shame that the Admin has evidently decided to delete that thread too. Well, seeing as how the "THAT was QUICK!" thread had "jumped the shark" into the waters of "Godwin's Law", while deleting that one, the Powers-That-Be around here decided that the "Wilson" thread had maybe ventured into similar waters, and that IT also might lead to too much of a political discussion...and thus it was ALSO "sunk". (...and no, I have NO idea why I decided to answer your question in this "nautical theme" here!!!)

Yeah finance?! Well like I said down below there in my little rant about him bein' a "freakin' loser" and throwin' his career away because of his drug abuse issues, and like I ALSO said down there about his ruining his KIDS lives because of it TOO, I'm afraid I can't say I hold the same emotions you seem to have for the guy. (...nope, sorry...I don't feel ONE BIT sorry for him!)
