OMG! I had forgotten about Brooks' Michigan J. Frog spoof in that movie, Ham! LOL Good segue, dude! -
DR. STRANGELOVE...'cause somehow I never seem to tire of going through my own personal survival kit and checking off its contents as Slim tattles off that list of his! (...anybody else with me here???)

>Last September I visited my 98 year old grandmother in a nursing home in Chicago. I didn't see anything that looked like that. Well, YEAH, spf! Wouldn't ya think Capone would've provided for that sweet young thing he always had a crush on from afar..better than THAT???!!! (...sorry, couldn't resist...and AT LEAST I said "from afar"!) >For some reason that photo makes me think of the chess scene in The Thomas Crown Affair. Well Fedya, while I don't recall McQueen's head bein' QUITE as elongated as Alien's here, I suppose Predator's flowing locks here MIGHT have just a little of that late '60s women hair vibe goin' on, anyway. (...and besides, word WAS Faye could sometimes be quite the aggressive monster on set if and when she didn't get her way) -

Yep, pretty much, Holden. I mean, if the ORIGINAL "Alien" isn't just "top flight"(and for ONCE, no pun intended here) entertainment, but also isn't a "Classic" in all senses of the word...then I don't know what IS!!! (...but then again, and like most of us, there's a whole lot o' stuff I don't know about either) -
>They certainly have given me happy days. Saaay, when the heck was THAT, Geraldddddd?!!! (...and wasn't THAT made in the '70s???)
-
Yeah, I saw that one, sfp. It's wasn't bad, and I thought Garret did a reasonably decent job in channeling The Great One. Oh, and as I recall, to get around that whole "height issue" with Brad, all the supporting players and extras had been cast from the ranks of the NBA and the WNBA. In FACT, word is the actress who played Audrey Meadows could come THIS close to dunkin' the ball in those pickup games they'd run after each day's shoot. (...betcha saw that one comin', didn't ya ...but yeah, honestly, I DID see it, and Brad wasn't half brad..err..bad)

Well, I HOPE you people around here realize that REGARDLESS the fact "ALIEN" was produced in 1979, BECAUSE Ridley Scott decided to film his movie in vivid color and NOT in Black & White and just like Hawks did "THE THING........from another world"(sorry, I forgot to add that in here) , there is NO WAY some folks will EVER view that movie with that thing poppin' outta John Hurt's chest(and THAT must'a REALLY hurt, btw) as a "REAL honest-to-God" "Classic"! (...so just remember that, folks!!!) -

Nope, BUT there IS this one "very partisan" old lady just down the street from me who NOT ONLY had placed about two dozen election campaign posters in your front yard a little while before the last election, but ALSO placed a "chair"(and with a "certain someone's" name taped to it) just like THAT in her yard TOO! Needless to say, she wasn't a happy camper the day she FINALLY removed 'em all, sometime in early November! LOL (...and yep, true story...I kid you not, Ham!) -

That was VERY cool, Geraldddddd!!! What a great find here, and thanks for posting it! What a great way to stay young! Just a little off topic here, but my mother for about 10 years and up until a few years before her death used to entertain the elderly at a few nursing homes in her area of SoCal, and by playing the organ and records and singing for them, and she always had a great voice. They loved it, and SHE loved doin' it...but then again, Mom WAS always a bit of a ham. (...just like that one particular son of hers...and she only had one) -
And btw Tom...did ya hear? Joseph Cotten was really Dave Letterman's dad? (...yeah, sorry...I'm gonna keep repeatin' that one until this baby catches fire in the public's imagination!)
-
How's THIS one, Tom?: You don't ever wanna play Superman if you're an actor and your last name is either Reeve or Reeves. "Coincidence"? "Urban Legend"? YOU be the judge! (...and yes, yes, I know, I know...those were both tragic...but HEY, so have been a lot of the OTHER examples in this baby so far, haven't THEY?!)
-
>Whatever floats your boat, Dargo. Thanks for apparently accepting my overwhelming compulsion for wordplay, Joe...but I don't own a boat. (...they're just big ol' holes in the water that ya throw...well, YOU know!)
-
Yep, as the present joke might go...THAT'S why he's always been into the YOUNG ladies especially! (...hey, don't blame ME for this one...I'm only goin' by what Fey and Poehler said in their opening Golden Globes routine this year!!!)
-
Well, I PREDICTED stardom for Ryan O' Neal......but I was wrong. (...seems some kinda "personal problems" kinda got in the way somewhere along the line)
-
ELIZABETH ALLEN (1929 - 2006) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hmmm...I see you got all the requisite "E"s and "I"s in, THIS time, eh Joe?!!! (...sorry, couldn't resist)
-
>Add Milton Berle to THAT Hollywood legend. From every report I've heard, it was true! Gee, I wonder if "Uncle Miltie" also had a nickname for his....ummm...never mind.

AVA!!! (....oh and yeah, Hedy) -
>Mary Pickford. LOL Which leads us to the question: Exactly how old ARE you, finance??? (...'cause I had NO idea you were as old as FRED!!!) LOL
-
There's IS a difference between the concepts of "evil", "smart" AND "no class" ya know, finance?!

LOL Great find of a pic there, Ham! Looks like it might've been taken at the London Male Alien's Club just off Baker Street! (...and where female Aliens are still not welcome to this day!) -
I'd say your assessments here are probably fairly accurate clore, however because Selleck would've seemed to be fairly well cast as Indy also, and with the idea that the film most likely would've been as big a hit as it would become if he had gotten the role instead, and because Ford's movie career skyrocketed after "Raiders" became the big hit that it would become, then Selleck's movie career MIGHT have become close to being as successful as Ford's. (...though debatable to be sure, depending upon how one feels about each of those actors)

>When will this madness end???? Well NylonLisa, seein' as how the latest Alien flick, "Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem" STILL made a LITTLE money after it was released in 2007, YOUR guess is as good as MINE as to "when will this madness end?" (...though somehow I have a feelin' that THAT really wasn't what you meant here by askin' this question!) -
Just think about much bigger a MOVIE star Selleck might have become if his "Magnum P.I." contract hadn't kept him from starring in "Raiders of the Lost Ark", clore.
