  1. Yeah...YEAH! Why don't they pick on a somebody more "relevant" now days......like maybe Miley Cyrus?! And her tongue?! (...seeing as how those Kardashian brats are SOOOO yesterday's news!) LOL

    >At the risk of repeating myself, I'm going to repeat myself. I was surprised nobody seemed to share my curiosity as to why our friend and OP started this thread in the first place. So I am shamelessly re-posting my earlier comment on that topic. Now, whaddaya talkin' about here, MisW! I posted WAY back on the first page of this baby MY guess in response to this very question Eugenia posed back then! And so, now I'll "shamelessly" re-post MY answer to HER here: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ya want MY guess here, Eugenia?! Well, I THINK Whyaduck probably was gonna start yet another thread around here with the title: "1960 and later movies suck!" (...and he just hit the enter button WAY too early, that's all!!!) LOL
  3. Yep, she's a saint, alright! Word among our friends and family has always been IF there's a Heaven, she's gonna have a special place in it. (...and she's told me she'll try her best to express the asbestos underwear to me once she's settled and once I get to where I'm probably headed)
  4. OH! Sorry. You've probably noticed I seldom if ever change the topic heading above my posts. I just "inherit" them. (...some around here do this quite often and some are rather cleverly put when I notice them)

Hmmm...ya know MissW, after reading the first part of your post here, I though sure you were gonna "save" this thread and "Fixx" it back onto a discussion of numerical digits by posting THIS instead...
  6. Sorry, Hibi. I was just giving a prime example of why in MY case all this talk of people being different online than in person isn't necessarily the case, THAT'S all! (...and yeah, if you also might be wonderin', in person, my speech pattern and the inflection of my voice is pretty much like how I type postings in websites, TOO!!!) LOL
  7. Well, all I can say here is that I've been known to more than once while having my Triumph motorcycle parked next to a string on Harleys outside a particular bar here in northern Arizona(a state which doesn't have a helmet law), to kidding chide more than a few of those big and burly(and pirate-outfit wearin')Harley riders about their choice to not wear a brain bucket! So tell ME how freakin' brave I AM then!!!! LOL (...I usually hit 'em with the fact that one of them there brain buckets about 18 years ago now saved me from some serious head injuries...though I KNOW all my talk goes in one of their freakin' ears and right out the other!)

Thought o' THIS one while talkin' with finance over there in that Baldwin thread, didn't ya heuriger!

I believe it was because during the days which took place in films such as "How Green Was My Valley" , coal miners used canaries in cages as a warning sign that there were toxic gases present inside their tunnels. (...dead bird meant makes tracks to the surface)

Yeah, well, that's probably 'cause I'm really "so lonely" 'cause I won't let anyone "stand so close to me". (...but I'm gettin' MUCH better about all that lately since I've switched to another shrink)

Yeah, I can see how that could happen. I'm not known as the "King of Pain(ful puns)" around here for NOTHIN', ya know!

Whaddaya tryin' to do here NOW, heuriger? Police this thread or somethin'??? (...if THAT'S the case, then "don't think me unkind", but "ah doo doo doo ah dah dah dah is all I want to say to you"!)

Yeah, that DOES seem to be your "problem" here, finance...you're just a little "out of sync" here. And so maybe THIS'LL help ya rectify all that... (...c'mon, you HAD to know this was comin' now!) LOL
  14. If you read the "To answer your question, MissW" thread I started after MissW's original thread about Hattie became(if you'll excuse the expression) "gone with the wind" , then CS, you'll know that I'm actually glad to see you've returned to these boards. And so, welcome back! (...just be prepared to take in stride a little of my, let us say, "pointed humor" while I make a few of my points this time)
  15. Nice try, James, but remember, the difference between little Miley, Hattie and Dave are that the latter two actually possessed talent. (...when it came to The Arts, anyway)

LOL Great find there again, Sans. Reminds me of watching Johnny Puleo and his band on the Ed Sullivan Show when I was kid. (...btw, do I now have another lookalike possibility here for that thread with the addition of Borrah Minevitch and Huntz Hall???)
  17. It's hard to top Bugs Bunny in that regard, heuriger!
  18. I would think Brubeck's other more well-known song, "Rondo a La Turk" would be much harder to play than "Take Five".

Uh-huh! SEE Lavender?!!! MissW and I aren't the ONLY ones around here with this thought in mind!!! And THIS guy is a MUSICIAN...a JAZZ musician!!! (...so THERE!!!) LOL
  20. Well, I'm no musicologist and my interest in Jazz is merely fleeting, but I've always thought that because Brubeck's "Take Five" became so popular, that it in effect HAD become somewhat of a "Pop Standard" also. (...though of course I could be wrong)
  21. No, I understood your point, James. I was more making the point that the idea of "selling-out" sometimes can still contribute to making good art, and regardless of the genre to which an artist can appear to "sell-out" by those known as "purists".
  22. Yeah, isn't it a "shame" the guy "sold-out"?! (smirk)
  23. Just wanna say here that while I have no idea what might've caused this schedule change...I LOVE this movie!
