  1. Well, to be honest with ya here, Sans, I've always kinda been a bit surprised that the Brits(and I suppose the Canadians) never spelled the words now in question here as: "motourcar" and motourbike"!!!!

    LOL

(...yep, there's my ol' "superfluous 'u' thing again...I JUST can't seem to get enough of that, can I...just like a pitbull with his favorite chew toy, huh!) ;)

  2. Sounds as if you might be referring to the argument made in the 2003 documentary film titled: "Easy Riders, Raging Bulls: How the Sex, Drugs and Rock 'N' Roll Generation Saved Hollywood", which TCM has shown before, finance.

(...at least I think it was TCM that has shown it, anyway)

  3. >What people never seem to grasp is that this is not a "new vs. old" thing. It's about the only channel that serves the art of cinema and its history, the only channel that honestly intends to do this (and doing so just as they always have) vs. people who only want what they want.

    BRAVO, Jonas! VERY well stated!

  4. Why am I makin' a "big deal" out of this, Twink?

'Cause I'm just yankin' your chain here, THAT'S why, my dear!

    LOL

And just to see if YOU can be a "good sport" about all this too. And especially after you asked me "Why I wanted to "ruin' it for you?" !

    LOL

'Cause OF COURSE this isn't a "big deal", BUT it appears because YOU seem to always place such a "high premium" on gettin' the answer first, and then in this case when I proved your answer wasn't right, you still fought me tooth and nail here about this whole insignificant matter.

(...oh, and all the while still not admitting that that IS Danielle!)

    LOL

  5. HELLO! DARKBLUE!!! WE NEED YOU HERE!

So you can settle this and tell Twinkeee that AFTER you've reconsidered your answer and NOW know the facts of the case, that you've come to a NEW conclusion that your FIRST answer was incorrect and that once again DARGO does indeed KNOW HIS STUFF!!!

'Cause Twink, just like all those times you say around here that there were no great movies made after Louis B. Mayer bit the dust, sorry, you're wrong again in THIS case TOO!!!)

    LOL

(...and so take it up with dark about his givin' the wrong cue here, Twink my dear!!!)

    LOL

  6. Twink, ever consider the possibility here that dark found that picture of Danielle which was mistakenly uploaded into the internet as Audrey, and then because dark knew beforehand that Audrey was in "Titanic", that THAT was the reason he gave that clue???

(...uh-huh, think about that, my dear...'cause I'll betcha ANYTHING that THAT was the very reason the whole "Titanic" thing came into play here!!!)

  7. dark, I may be wrong here, but I think that Rich and Holden were correct here, not Twink.

Ya see, I GoogleImaged both Audrey Dalton and Danielle De Metz, and lo and behold that very picture came up for each lady among all the pictures of each lady.

And so I have the feeling someone at sometime mistakenly uploaded that picture into the internet under the name Audrey Dalton, when in fact I'm pretty darn sure that the lady you posted was Danielle De Metz, because the lady definitely looks MUCH more like the rest of the pictures on the internet under Danielle than it does under Audrey.

    (...sorry Twink)

  8. >She also brought a lot of dignity to a later Bonanza episode that paired her with Dan Blocker.

Lemme guess here, TB! By the end of that episode Julie's character dies, RIGHT?!

(...well, didn't all the Cartwright men have the kiss of death when it came to their women?!)

  9. Interesting stuff here, Perry. And yeah, definitely something to ponder, alright.

But tell me...Your friend R.J. didn't happen to ask you to post this here recollection o' yours 'cause he's just heard they're about to open up the investigation to that whole thing one MORE time again, did HE??? ;)

    LOL

  10. You guys evidently have no know knowledge in the field of..ahem.."Gene-alogy"!

Because if ya DID, then you would know that this phenomenon was a result of a..ahem.."Recessive Gene"!!!

(...hey, as I've said before around here, these babies can't ALL be gems ya know)

  11. I might have misquoted John Davis there. Yep, maybe he didn't say "Motorcars".

Maybe because they're are made in England, I had it in my mind that that word "just naturally flowed" after saying the name Jaguar, eh?! ;)

(...'cause I think many if not most Brits still say the word 'Motorbike" instead of "Motorcycle", also)

  12. Well first, I LOVED the YouTube link! LOL

    Well done.

However, and in regard to the idea of "censorship" you brought up...while I know these sorts of things around here seem and maybe are occasionally a consequence of overreach and overreaction, you must remember that the admins of almost any PRIVATELY owned website are usually of the mind, rightly or wrongly, that "peace and harmony must be the order of the day", and especially at websites with Standards of Conduct" that disallow the talk of "controversial" topics, and which I'm sure you know of what they consist.

And unfortunately because as evidenced in the thread with the topic of "Race" in this country(which was again in my view introduced somewhat needlessly in the original and now vanished thread about Hattie McDaniel's SUTS day) still being such a "hot-button issue", I suppose the Admin felt compelled to enforce the "peace and harmony must be the order of the day" mindset. And of course which his "right" as an Administrator in a PRIVATELY-owned website.

(...though yeah, I know...it still kinda sucks that some very thoughtful and insightful exchanges of thought are now..if you'll excuse the expression.."gone with the wind") ;)

  13. Nice link there, ham! Good work! And I hope it does work in that regard for ya in this thread of yours....keeping it civil, that is.

(...because the talented Hattie deserves being remembered and appreciated for her work in all fields of entertainment, and NOT as just some "representative")

  14. Well actually ham, I'm sorry to report to you that I already pretty much took care of all this this very morning, and when I started the "To answer your question, MissW" thread.

    http://forums.tcm.com/thread.jspa?threadID=170665&start=75&tstart=0

BUT, seein' as how THAT one has seemed to "devolve" into a thread where I am once again kiddin' around with people who MAY or MAY NOT quite "appreciate" my brand of humor, then I suppose this new one of yours here might not be such a bad idea after all!

(...though I DO have a word of warning for ya here, ol' buddy...as SOON as a few people around here might start talkin' about how put-upon THEY are in life because of some distinguishing feature of theirs, do NOT be surprised at all at how quickly YOUR thread here will "devolve" ALSO!!!) ;)

    LOL

  15. "On the TOP" ya say, Jake???

Well then, depending upon how far down your hairline still goes, I suppose if you decided to re-grow that ol' ponytail you used to sport, I suppose that wouldn't be such a bad look for ya even now! ;)

(...AND of course as ALWAYS, you certainly do not need MY approval to do this...which I'm sure, no, make that VERY sure you already knew)
