Yeah, I'd say Daniela would've been a great pick. Julie Christie probably first came to my mind because of her playing Lara in "Doctor Zhivago".
-
Aah! And yet another example of why Politics and Religion should never mix! LOL
-
Yeah, what WAS the original point of this thread anyway, HUH? Oh yeah, wasn't it that we Boomers are pretty much just a bunch of self-centered malcontents who will leave the world in worse shape than how they came into it, and their kids will have to pick up the tab for all of their Boomer parents' misdeeds? Yeah, I think that was it, RIGHT?! Well then, to tell ya the truth here Sans, all things considered, I think I'd rather keep the humo(u)r flowin' and the party goin' here instead, my dear! And so, in THAT vein, how about a little ol' Miss Peggy Lee tune to set the proper mood here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VF9mVi2KQXg LOL

THOUGH word is Betty to the very end of their relationship wished Bogie would just ONCE push a grapefruit in her face one morning! (...she was kinky that way, ya know)

>I assumed the same thing based on how he looked in the back seat of that car. But an interesting sequel would be Scott running for President in 18 months. It is my understanding none of the generals were charged with treason or other crimes (since the President insisted on covering this up), so Scott would of been free to run. Yeah, that's not a bad premise there, James. I can see that. AND, of course because it seems so many Americans have always fallen for the ol' "I'm a bigger and better flag-waver than YOU are" routine, Scott would probably be elected TOO!!! LOL >In the sequel they could have a women Russia spy. We all know they know how to carry themselves well! So, who did you have in mind for this role, if say this sequel was made around '66 or so? Off the top pf my head I'm thinkin' maybe somebody like Julie Christie. (...so whaddaya think?)
-
>but unless it's light years above all the other Classic Era Hollywood sports biopix I've seen (another of my un-favorite genres, no thank you Gary Cooper, no thank you Ronald Reagan) Yeah Andy, I guess you needn't have bothered to add somethin' like "no thank you William Bendix" there, 'cause EVERYBODY already know his portrayal of The Bambino is pretty darn lame, huh!
-
WAIT James! Is the NEXT thing you're gonna try and tell me here is that that '60/'70s Brit crooner Englebert Somethin'-or-other stole HIS name from some old dead person TOO???!!!
-
Yeah, well, if ya have the guts to drop that freakin' gun there little dude, and I'll knock YOUR block off! LOL (...nice way to get this baby back on track here Tom, 'cause as we can see, "SOME people" will just never get why Errol was a much better actor than he was ever given credit for, huh!)
-
>son of Jane Seymour. And who of course would go on in her later years to design a wonderful collection of jewelry known as the "Open Hawt"(that would be "Open HeaRt" to us 'Mericans) necklace pendants available at any of your local Kay Jewelry stores. (...Jane that is, NOT her kid)
-
Well actually Twink, finance and I HAD a little deal goin' on for a while. Uh huh...we BOTH promised to stop any attempts at "Nazi Humor" IF I stopped makin' jokes about his hometown and let HIM do that instead! (...but the "stinker" that I am just gets the better of me sometimes, THAT'S all!) LOL
-
>Clark's biggest talents were in production, dealmaking, and programming. A really smart guy. Well..DAAAH! I mean he DID move away from Philadelphia eventually, didn't HE?! LOL (...sorry ol' buddy...I just couldn't resist that one)
-
>Oh well... News item today about BBC News making mistake by naming Australia's prime minister as Canada's prime minister: Guess ya didn't hear, eh RM?! Yep, turns out the proofreader for the BBC in THIS instance was the British cousin of the KTVU news proofreader in Oakland CA who gave those names of the Asiana Airlines cockpit crew to HIS news anchor! (...what's the chances, HUH?!...yep, must run in the family, I guess)
-
Hey Andy! Have you got me on your Ignore List TOO?! LOL (...'cause dude, not even one word in reply to my earlier "Bette Davis' own reconsideration of Flynn's acting talent" comment of mine?...and dude, I seriously doubt Bette would have EVER "reconsidered" Sly and/or The old ex-Governator of Cal-EE-forn-ia as bein' in the same league acting-wise as her old costar in "The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex"!)
-
Yeah...well, IF you can "handle the truth" that is, I suppose.
-
Well, MY guess is that with Scott bein' the Right-Wing Drama Queen that he is, once he got home he probably pulled out his old Colt model 1911 .45 and placed it in his mouth and pulled the trigger. (...and thus unfortunately making any sequel a rather short affair!)
-
OH! Then you saw that part TOO, eh finance?! (...man, I don't know HOW all these other people around here keep missin' it...why, it's by FAR the best part of that flick, wouldn't ya say?!)
-
>Oh, and Bette Davis was really something with regards to the real Canteen as well as how she presented herself in the movie. The only thing missing was a cat fight scene with Joan and her! (Joan being signed by WB months before the film was shot). So James, it appears you missed the part in that movie where Bette takes over for the coat-check girl, and while she's hangin' up this one sailor's pea coat, Joan happens to walk by and tells her she usin' the wrong kind of hanger for that! And THEN of course, ALL lady-like behavior ceases inside that cloak room! (...so, ya MISSED that part, HUH?!...well, that's too bad, 'cause IT was GREAT!!!)
-
>Is the opposite of "well-hung" badly hung? Yeah, maybe...but I'm thinkin' this terminology might apply more in an art gallery setting. (...or maybe what happened to Dana Andrews, Tony Quinn and that old senile guy in "The Ox-Bow Incident")
-
So, you're thinkin' more midsize...like say a Buick Skylark or Ford Fairlane sorta thing(y), huh?!
-
There ya go again spurrin' my little "lookalikes" brain here, Joe. (...Alan Curtis/Ray Liotta, to be precise)
-
"Dorgou"??? Gotta say Twink, what with all these new spellings of my handle around here lately, I'm beginnin' to wonder if maybe some of the keys on that there computer o' yours might be gettin' a mite sticky or somethin'?!!! 'Cause at least on MY keyboard, the 'a' is WAY over there to the LEFT and the 'o' is over there the RIGHT! (...though I have to admit I HAVE become accustomed to that there superfluous letter 'u' you've been addin' to my moniker these past few months!)
-
Hmmmm...well John, gotta say I'm not so sure that that has been established as of yet. And so, I think I'm just gonna continue to believe that Paul's major appeal to the ladies has more to do with all that "oh so Continental" aspect to him. (...I mean, YOU know how they all think that that sorta stuff if "so exotic", RIGHT?!) LOL
