Well, NOT that Fred will see this or anything...BUT...on a more serious note here folks, my father was a real Tarzan fan(MAN, could he ever do the best Tarzan yell ya ever heard...it was like Weissmuller HIMSELF was in the room...but I digress), and I remember him pointing out the "wrong" kind of elephants in some of those movies to me when I was but a wee little lad.
-
WHICH reminds me, finance...Ever try combin' a camel?
Well, don't! They don't like it, AND once you're done, ooh-wee, SUCH a smell your comb has, ya wouldn't believe!!!
-
Yeah, you're probably right.
(...I mean, HOW could ANY one ever top Mel Brooks' use of "Nazi humor" anyway, RIGHT?!)
-
>Ar first glance, I thought the title of this thread was "Jews".
Hmmmm...well after THAT finance, let me see if I CAN have any better luck at that "Nazi humor" thing you attempted the other day without much success....
Okay, let's see....
Well, ya know finance, IRONICALLY one of crazy Adolf's ALTERNATE plans was to feed the Jews to SHARKS!!!
(...okay buddy, whaddaya think here?..was that any better than YOURS was, or so should we just conclude that the phrase "Nazi humor" is just too much of an oxymoron???)
LOL

Grab your old 3-D glasses everybody...'cause I always found THIS more than a little hypmotizin'...
And then of course, there's this classic SCTV spoof of this kind of stuff...

Well THAT of course could all be explained because of his priority of LOOKING good over FEELING good!
(...and as a particular dude once made "Crystal clear" back in the '80s!)

-
Yeah, it was indeed well done. SO well done in fact that I remember almost NOBODY dared venture into the ocean along the L.A. area's South Bay beaches the summer this movie first hit the screens!
Yeah, REALLY. I'm not kiddin' here!
(...talk about your "mass hysteria"!)
-
Yeah, and that guard sure switched sides in a hurry TOO, didn't he?!
(...oh WEE oh..wee OOOH oh)
-
Yeah, sounds like Levant, or maybe fiance's hometown boy, Mr.Dukenfield.
Sorry to hear of this painful episode or yours, Sepia. So, it wasn't initially the issue of added weight which caused your problem then, eh? Have to say however, I have a feelin' that packin' on the pounds during that sedentary treatment phase probably didn't help your situation much.
-
LOL
Good one, Dothery!
(...though now I suppose the question might be: Where do ya pahk ya llamar in Hahvahd Yahd?)

-
>Tony Randall's best movie work.
Yeah, MAYBE wouldbe...but I've been told that for a white dude to put a rubber band around his eyes like that and pretend to be an oriental...ahem, I mean an ASIAN dude is rather politically incorrect now days!!!
LOL
(...sorry, couldn't resist)

-
Okay...my observation, RIGHT?!
(...it was the whole "Queen of Outer Space" thing that threw ya, huh!)
LOL
-
WHAT, FlyBack?!
You didn't get ENOUGH sharks this summers already after watchin' "Sharknado" the other night or somethin'???
(...man, you ARE a tough guy to please, AREN'T ya?!!!)

-
Which one? My observation or the movie?
-
Have to say I'm startin' to think this thread is so all over the place that it seems like it was "designed by committee"!
Get IT?! Like what they say about "camels being a horse designed by committee"?!
(...oh, never mind...you people can be SUCH a tough audience around here, ya know!!!)
-
Have to say. on the whole, watching this series of Henreid's films is giving me a little more appreciation for his talents.
(...though notice I said "on the whole" here, as I unfortunately happened to catch "Thief of Damascus" the other night, and oh-wee was THAT ever a turkey...it reminded of "Queen of Outer Space" but set on more terrestrial ground)

Always enjoyed reading Kyle's informative and entertainingly written posts. What a shame to learn there will no longer be anymore of them.
My condolences to all his friends and family.

>Leave it to YOU to come up with the Idea ! .....You 'lil Stinker You

"Yez,..zat iz me! Sorry again!"
. -
>but thanks for the 'heads up' as I have a HUGE aversion to rats or anything that even remotely resembles them.
"BOO!"

(...sorry Twink...hope I didn't scare ya too badly here)

>I'm WAY overweight. Eating less helps some, but much of excersize is out of the question due to a venal problem with my legs.
Hmmmm...well, what you do think might have been the original cause of that, my friend? (not that I'm a doctor here, you understand)
>But you're right about one thing( and something that not only escapes "boomers", but subsequent generations as well). The ONLY weight loss plan one needs is simple...eat less. Move around more.
Exactly. Most of those "special diets to loose weight" books out there are nothin' but a quick-fix, and as far as I can tell are only published to make money for the "author" and the publisher. PORTION sizes are and have always been the bottom line in this regard.
> I have a DVD of a Paul McCartney tour in America that has scenes of 50+ boomers, dressed in Docker shorts with their Izod shirts TUCKED INTO THEM pointing their cell phone cameras at the stage.
Well, as I think we ALL know, Sir Paul should have retired at least 5-7 years ago, because his voice is now TERRIBLE because he just can't hit the notes anymore. And it really wasn't ever his guitar or keyboard playing that we went to see anyway...and dressed in any manner we Boomers wished.
-
Well, maybe you DON'T know the answer to that, Twink!
Uh huh, because knowing how screwed up Marilyn was emotionally in REAL life, and seein' as how the roles she specialized in playing were often that of an "Airhead", AND because she never really did all that much for me ANYWAY...then personally I would have probably been "bored" with her after about half an hour!
(...oh, and I forgot to add here...I can't STAND women who put on that little "Baby Talk" breathless little voice thing EITHER...yep, gimme a woman who sounds like Lauren Bacall and who gives me the impression she's "been around the block" a few times in her life and "knows the score", ANY day of the week!!!)

Just off the top of my head here finance, another one would be the John Garfield film, "Pride of the Marines".
-
>n Beach Blanket Bingo , in fact, ALL of those "Annette & Frankie" beach movies, The only girl NOT wearing a bikini is ANNETTE! Was the a reason for this? Was it HER idea, or the producer's?
I think I've heard that that was some sort of "promise" she made to Walt Disney, Sepia.
(...no kidding here)
-
>But what's funny is, many women I know would think Tarzan is the perfect mate! Rugged, handsome, full of raw, brute strength, knows only enough to survive and does little, if any, talking!

Hmmmm...now wouldn't ya think any woman with at least half a brain would get pretty freakin' bored with a guy like that after, say, 3 months???
(...naaah, make that 2 months...I DID say "a woman with at least HALF a brain" here, remember!)

Hmmmm...with all this talk of "swim fins" all of a sudden around here, WHY is it I'm now NOT thinking of either Bogie or Jimmy OR Eddie, but of Dustin...as in Hoffman???
