  1. <Maybe I should just go to the Zoo and throw cigarette butts at the monkeys or something> Oh, Addy. I hope your headache is better. (One Aleve works for me when I get those banging headaches.) I hope you didn't do the above. Wild animals have a way of getting back at folks in zoos these days!
  2. That film reel coffeetable featured in the "Wee Bit" thread would be right at home in your movie-themed apartment! Sounds like a REALLY fun project!
  3. Clue #4: "I sing, act in film and on Broadway, direct, produce, and write."
  4. No techno joy for Fred! Bummer, man. Welcome back!
  5. glass eye -- "Nurse Jackie" (which is TV and maybe doesn't count) next: ice palace
  6. Yes, I was going to mention "A&I." I have the DVD. Beautiful colors and good acting (albeit a creepy subtheme -- and EVERYone in the house knows about it!) Do check out "Chinatown" again and you may see what I mean.
  7. My jury is out as to whether it was full-on "abuse" (and zero degrees of consensuality) in "Chinatown," swithin. I'd wager that Polanski kept it ambiguous intentionally. Edited by: dpompper on Mar 24, 2013 8:49 AM
  8. "Journey to the Center of the Earth" next: beer with foam
  9. Not sick, simply CREATIVE! Also, as an only child in a fairly remote area, I had to keep myself occupied.
  10. Native American symbols on a scroll: "McKenna's Gold" washing a car
  11. You guyz crack me up! Seriously, then there's "Luna" (1979) which I haven't seen since undergrad school. It creeped me out then and probably would do the same now with lines such as: "My son, my lover, my son and my lover . . . " And lest we forget Riff-Raff and Magenta from "Rocky Horror" . . . "My brother, my sister . . . in**** is best." Finally, while downplayed in the film "Flowers in the Attic," two generations of brother-sister love was a central theme in the book (which I read at age 13 or so).
  12. "I hate you!" and related lines such as "I'm going to kill you" "Give me a drink" and related lines such as "Buy me a drink," "Let me buy you a drink" "Do ya wanna get funky?" (but probably different words used . . . or glances exchanged).
  13. Again, I second the motion! Susan Hayward for SOTM! Thanks, folks, for encouraging me to think about comparison/contrast of two of my favorite actresses, Ida Lupino and Susan Hayward. I'd never thought about this issue, but I can entirely see what you're talking about. Ida also was a director in Hollywood dominated by men. She gets extra credit from me for that!
  14. <Barbie dolls and all of that, they're actually INACTION figures!> Well, not the way I played with them! (Oh, the things I used to make Ken do. He was the only male amidst all of the females!)
  15. I meant to type "Pride & Prejudice" and not "Rebecca" What would we do without your corrections?
  16. Mongo . . . was that "leaning board" for actors to use between takes . . . relaxing a bit without sitting and wrinkling costumes?
  17. Well, ain't that cool! (I'm not, but I can still appreciate your coffee table.) I once had a boomerang table . . . left it behind one of the times I moved. I regret doing that.
  18. I believe that was the first Olivier film I ever saw. I agree that he's very good in it. I'm sure TCM cannot do everything it would like to do.
  19. I have an appreciation for all things irreverent of organized religion.
  20. Clue #3: "I'm a woman and won't let anyone rain on my parade." Edited by: dpompper on Mar 22, 2013 9:47 AM
  21. Clue #2: "And I'm still alive and going strong." Edited by: dpompper on Mar 22, 2013 9:47 AM
