Yes, I was going to mention "A&I." I have the DVD. Beautiful colors and good acting (albeit a creepy subtheme -- and EVERYone in the house knows about it!)
Do check out "Chinatown" again and you may see what I mean.

My jury is out as to whether it was full-on "abuse" (and zero degrees of consensuality) in "Chinatown," swithin. I'd wager that Polanski kept it ambiguous intentionally.

Not sick, simply CREATIVE!
Also, as an only child in a fairly remote area, I had to keep myself occupied.

You guyz crack me up!
Seriously, then there's "Luna" (1979) which I haven't seen since undergrad school. It creeped me out then and probably would do the same now with lines such as: "My son, my lover, my son and my lover . . . "
And lest we forget Riff-Raff and Magenta from "Rocky Horror" . . . "My brother, my sister . . . in**** is best."
Finally, while downplayed in the film "Flowers in the Attic," two generations of brother-sister love was a central theme in the book (which I read at age 13 or so).

"I hate you!" and related lines such as "I'm going to kill you"
"Give me a drink" and related lines such as "Buy me a drink," "Let me buy you a drink"
"Do ya wanna get funky?" (but probably different words used . . . or glances exchanged).

Again, I second the motion!
Susan Hayward for SOTM!
Thanks, folks, for encouraging me to think about comparison/contrast of two of my favorite actresses, Ida Lupino and Susan Hayward. I'd never thought about this issue, but I can entirely see what you're talking about. Ida also was a director in Hollywood dominated by men. She gets extra credit from me for that!

<Barbie dolls and all of that, they're actually INACTION figures!>
Well, not the way I played with them! (Oh, the things I used to make Ken do. He was the only male amidst all of the females!)

I meant to type "Pride & Prejudice" and not "Rebecca"
What would we do without your corrections?

Mongo . . . was that "leaning board" for actors to use between takes . . . relaxing a bit without sitting and wrinkling costumes?

Well, ain't that cool! (I'm not, but I can still appreciate your coffee table.)
I once had a boomerang table . . . left it behind one of the times I moved. I regret doing that.

I believe that was the first Olivier film I ever saw. I agree that he's very good in it.
I'm sure TCM cannot do everything it would like to do.

Your reply was a blank, Kid . . . please post again.

Very appropriate, given tonight's lineup.
