  1. Boyer looks like he's texting . . .
  2. Too late. My fantasy has been fueled! Aww, Brando was a cat person??
  3. Oh my! Thank you, thank you. That lovely photo has made my day. (In profile, JD looks like Robert Pattinson.)
  4. Despite appreciating her performance in "Norma Rae," I REALLY DON'T like her!
  5. There's commentary on the Criterion Collection release of "Rebecca" (1940) about finding "I," who ultimately was played by Joan Fontaine. The commentary suggests that there's no need to actually "see" the Rebecca character because in our collective mind's eye, she looks exactly like Vivien Leigh. Think about it . . . the flowing dark locks, the self-satisfied expression, the beauty, married to Olivier . . . Makes a lot of sense and it works for me.
  6. On the other hand, Add, it makes us really appreciate the clever, informative, fun, useful posts on the site
  7. MaryLyn, you've got your priorities well in order. Kudos to you! Enjoy! I also love "That Hamilton Woman" (1941). Edited by: dpompper on Nov 5, 2012 10:38 AM
  8. C'mon, finance, wasn't the title enough of a clue? On the other hand, props for having an open mind. I watched "Hysteria" (2011) via Netflix instead. Entertaining enough, but not great. Edited by: dpompper on Nov 3, 2012 7:31 PM
  9. Going out on a limb here without actual data . . . but suspect that tomorrow night's "Wuthering Heights" is in the running for that trend, too.
  10. <*For starters, you should at least be able to act your way out of a paper bag, which Madison and Derek could not do.* While this may preclude one from getting respect, it most certainly did not from achieving stardom.> Moreover, how many guys of advanced age do you know who can get a **** like Bo??
  11. Thanks, RM. Same to everyone! Hard to believe that Michael Jackson's "Thriller" album was released THIRTY years ago! Rock on, Michael and Vincent Price.
  12. <I'm the *KING OF THE WORLD* > . . . and laughing all the way to the bank . . .
  13. <His crimes were even beneath the underworld.> Kind of like present-day outcomes for jailed child molesters??
  14. <He's got the attractive/repulsive syndrome> I feel that way about Willem Dafoe, as in "Wild at Heart" (1995). Edited by: dpompper on Oct 31, 2012 8:17 AM
  15. Double yikes!! You mean the one who's "kinda funny lookin?"
  16. Very sad . . . at least Osgood Fielding's "New Caledonia I" went down during a wild party!
  17. Perhaps a more entertaining thread to start a list of actors who have portrayed "the other one." You know, the guy known by so MANY names.
  18. Cecil B. DeMille, of course!
  19. It's obvious, sepiatone. You have a wife with good taste!
  20. Thanks for that eye candy, darkblue. I'd not heard of this film. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4I61hU4SF1M You're right. A VERY buff RR at :47.
  21. Hope they don't cut the part with the "large W." What an ambiguous ending that would be!
  22. A nice definition of "leaning." I'd like Bill Pullman to lean on ME! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Sfjltehs7w
  23. Interesting thread, skim. I confess that I can watch NO version without thinking (and laughing) about the Pythons' version. So cheesy. So funny. So brilliant. Consider adding to your list: "First Knight" (1995) and "Camelot" (1967).
  24. You won't get any argument from me there, Valentine. I watched it once when it came on free TV -- despite the fact that I detest DiCaprio. (He should have stopped while he was ahead with "Gilbert Grape.") I wanted to see what the big hoo-ha was all about. Hence, no interest in seeing "Avatar" even if/when it comes to free TV. I'm convinced that Cameron laughs his way to the bank at least once a week.
