-Well, I'm glad this whole case is over, it was really starting to give me a headache. -But who killed Major Moe? -Major Moe? -Yes, you know, the midget that ran the miniature golf course over on La Cienega. -Oh sh*t, now I've got to start all over again. Damn it all. *The Big Sheep* Private eye Philip Marlowe is hired by Corporal Wormwood to find out if his nymphomaniac daughter Overeasy is being blackmailed. In the course of his investigation he runs across illegal bingo parlor owner Upton Uranus, kiddie porn producer Pops Gumball, working girl Betty O'Ready and other assorted LA characters. After many confusing twists and turns, he discovers Easy is being blackmailed by Emil Crankshaft, who caught Easy in compromising positions with his prize big sheep and has photographs of them. Before Marlowe can make a deal, Easy whacks Crankshaft and is quickly hustled off to the Peaceful Meadows Rest Home for Spoiled Homicidal Daughters of the Affluent. Case closed. Or is it?

Don't mess with the family Addams. That show was must see TV when I was a kid. All my friends watched it. I recall the bubblegum cards and the Uncle Fester light bulb that would light up when you stuck it in your mouth. TVLand showed it about five years ago. Of course it wasn't as funny as it originally was, but not a bad show overall.

Let's go to the numbers--one album, six songs. The only clunker of the six is the Ginger Baker 15 minute long jam Do What You Like.+ For that type of thing, it's really not half bad, but it's the one I would pick if I had to pick one. There are songs or albums I associate with a certain place or time, but none are from the Blind Faith album.

For some reason I sort of missed out on Jeff Beck. No particular reason. He does do a nice workout on the guitar and Rod's vocals are pretty good. There was quite a lot of angst when Rod "went Hollywood" and got away from his original just one of the mates persona. Now that's all water under the bridge and he's doing those 1930s and 1940s classic song covers, like so many middle aged and beyond rockers do. Whatever. Watch out for black bears too.

That's probably my favorite, but I've already posted it a while back. Since they only made one album, and that one didn't have a lot of songs on it, it's hard to find a bad Blind Faith tune.

Frankly, things like drinking or smoking weed are of too much importance to be disrupted by mere entertainment, however skillfully it is presented. So I almost never drink/smoke and watch. But munching on some chips or popcorn and sucking down a soda or some milk is perfectly acceptable, even if done during one of those deep head-scratchers like Suddenly, Last Summer or The Seventh Seal. I very rarely have the chance to watch TCM during prime time, so I usually catch it if there's a decent flick on at 11 or 12. I usually don't go to bed until 2, so this fits into my schedule and I never fall asleep during a film, though a few are definitely deserving. If the movie doesn't end until 3 I usually skip it. Just for the heck of it I watched the last 45 minutes or so of Seven Days in May last night. Solid movie, but except for the plot point of Ava's letters, she wasn't really needed. I like to occasionally talk to the characters in the movie--'Yeah, buddy like you had a chance with her' or 'Talk about stupid, what a dope,' that kind of thing, because some of the things these folks do are just so funny stupid. And also, Mank's set really doesn't do much for me. Looks like a rather anonymous furniture store decoration done by somebody who is color blind. Very blah, but it's not about the set. I haven't seen Wolf Blitzer in ages. He looks pretty good with white hair. Watching movies on the computer is not the optimum method, but there are so many good films on YT that aren't otherwise available that I have no problem watching them on the monitor, and one doesn't have to worry about the "schedule." Apropos of not much, I remember going with a friend to see The Great Dictator. For some reason we let another, younger kid tag along and this kid would not shut up. He kept talking non-stop. We finally told him to shut the f*ck up or we'd leave him in the city. That worked. We should have left him there anyway, but we didn't.

Steve was a prodigy, but by the time Blind Faith came around, he was already an old man of 21. Just about all Traffic songs are worth more than one listen. I remember when the Blind Faith album came out in the U.S., many people wondered who Ric Grech was. Everybody knew the other three, but not him. He was probably better known in the UK than here. After BF he did play on a few Traffic albums and joined KGB, one of those second tier super groups. Unfortunately he had a long term problem with drink and drugs, which led to his early death. A very talented musician who, due to circumstances, was overshadowed.

Yep, that's what they keep the big guys around for--power. Not off to a good start, but it's only the first game. Time will tell.

She did put on some pounds. I'm not sure how old the video is, but according to some of the comments, she's much thinner now. I've always liked Blondie and Debbie. That's a pretty spooky song, one of those dancing skeletons numbers with some bizarre instrumentation. How could I leave out this possibility, shame on me: What A Dump!

I doubt there's any relation, especially as Shirley is Scottish.

Sounds like a close match up, though you never know until they actually start playing. I'll go with the Giants, but if the Tigers win it won't be a big disappointment. Now if it was the Yankees that were playing, that would be a whole different thing.

Sandy did have a lovely voice which seemed especially suited to those sensitive folk or folk rock songs. I'm sure she could have been a fine rock singer too, if that had been her choice, but obviously it wasn't. Didn't Holy F**k start out as Holy Sh*t, and then there was some kind of musical disagreement and they both went their separate ways? I wouldn't be surprised that, in all the names of unknown bands, there wouldn't be at least one Dump in there somewhere. Imagine all the punning titles they could have: Takin' a Dump, Live Dump, etc.
-
And Klinger better run for it. I didn't expect the Giants to come back after being down 3-1, but they did. I'll go with the Giants in the Series. Except for two years ago, they haven't done much for a while.

Blondie, Union City Blue.

Too bad there isn't a band called Dump, at least I've never heard of one.

Sadly, Joe was still trying to dig his way out of the grave where he was buried alive in just his undies in Casino. A wiseguy in briefs. How unintimidating.
