  1. I'm coming in from out of town on the 9th and was wondering if anyone would like to go as a group to the Hollywood Heritage event the night before the Festival? I will have to find where "the Barn" is in relation to where I am staying, but if there are takers we could meet at the Hollywood Roosevelt and share a cab there and back. Thoughts? Evening @ the Barn: The Search for Scarlett Hollywood Heritage will celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the immortal film "Gone With The Wind" at our next Evening @ the Barn on Wednesday, April 9th at 7:30PM. Steve Wilson, Curator of Film, Harry Ransom Center, the University of Texas at Austin will discuss the casting process for the film in a presentation entitled "The Search for Scarlett". Accompanying the talk, he will be showing rarely seen film clips from the Harry Ransom Center's Selznick Collection of the Scarlett O'Hara screen tests themselves. Actress Marsha Hunt, who was considered for the role of Melanie, will also be on hand to share memories of testing for that coveted part. In addition, Daniel Selznick, son of the film's Producer, David O. Selznick, will give us some insight into the film's legacy. The museum is planning to display some unique memorabilia related to the film in its main gallery. This is a must-attend event for the many fans of this beloved classic!
  2. Thanks! Rather than bring around photos I will be bringing an autograph book and hoping for the best!
  3. Thank you so much for the information everyone!! I purchased a Classic pass. I had no idea about the attendants giving out numbers, so that was great info, as well it seems about 45 mins to 1 hr if it is a popular event is plenty of time. The times that were giving me most concern was Friday's schedule. Because my movie locations tour starts at 1:30 pm, then I would like to attend the Paper Moon but not if it interferes with my #1 - Blazing Saddles and Mel Brooks! But it seems as though they are in the same building (Chinese Imax and Chinese Multiplex 1) so it may not be that big of a problem. Paper Moon ends at 8 and Blazing Saddles starts at 9. I haven't heard back from anyone regarding an autograph opportunity other than what I read about some personalities having book signings, but I did read something about getting autographs on a thread here basically saying how to do it respectfully and not intrusively. I don't know how much success people have had in the past, but I'm taking an autograph book and a few pens and keeping my fingers crossed. I was able to get an extra pass for the tour, and intend to give it to someone who wasn't able to get one!
  4. I am planning out my time at the festival and I noticed that some venues are quite some distance from each other. About how much time should I arrive at the venue prior to the show/discussion to ensure I will get in? I was lucky to score a couple of passes to the TCM movie locations tour as well - really, does this get any better???
  5. Received mine today... the Countdown is On!!!
  6. This will be my first festival and I'm a bit of an autograph collector. I purchased a Classic Pass. Even though I won't be able to attend the VIP or red carpet events, do you think there would be an opportunity for having the guest stars sign a photo?
  7. Hi Rachel. I still have a booking at the Comfort Inn near the Walk of Fame, but I will be canceling it shortly. I was able to book a **** closer to the festival through airbnb site. Not sure how to send you a private message with the details through this board so if you know how to do it feel free to message me. It saves me approx $400 difference from the hotel booking. This is my first festival so would appreciate the company in the apartment.
  8. Thanks so much, I was able to book a hotel but I will definitely look into apartment sharing!
  9. I am planning to attend the festival for the first time this year and was wondering if any of the regular festival goers are willing to share accommodations near the festival to save $?
  10. I would like to find out more information about TCM's road trip festivals for 2013. I'm not able to attend the main festival this April and live in Canada, but I do have a place in the Phoenix area so would like to find out if the schedule has been made yet for 2013. Can't seem to find out any info on the website. Can someone answer or redirect me? Thanks so much.
