Tomorrow (2/26/04) one of my favorite Gary Cooper (and man does he look great in this one ) movies is going to be on! "Morocco" (1930) at 2:45 EST - starring Coop, Marlene Dietrich & Adolphe Menjou. IMDB Plot Summary: The Foreign Legion marches in to Mogador with booze and women in mind just as singer Amy Jolly arrives from Paris to work at Lo Tinto's cabaret. That night, insouciant legionnaire Tom Brown catches her inimitably seductive, tuxedo-clad act. Both bruised by their past lives, the two edge cautiously into a no-strings relationship while being pursued by others. But Tom must leave on a perilous mission: is it too late for them?

ML, I must admit I'm a bit piqued about your inference that I would be devious enough to falsify my identity. Until you hear to the contrary, I AM who I say I AM. -
I agree with the others Path--your post was wonderful!

You are correct feaito! "Jane Eyre" it is! One of the reasons I chose to do "Jane Eyre" is because I'm reading the book (again). The copy I have was reprinted Nov. 1944 and on the page before the preface it says "Because of the acute shortage of regular book cloth under war-time rationing, this book is bound in a sturdy paper fabric especially designed for this purpose." I thought that to be rather interesting. The sturdy paper fabric didn't hold up well over time though.....the damn thing's falling apart. -

"Made for Each Other"? -
Thanks for the info, ML. I didn't know about the book. Have you read it? If so, how was it? Ohhh, and how I envy Ms. Johnson if she really did get a chance to converse with Coop *sigh*.

I saw this one years ago. It stars Gary Cooper, Maria Schell, George C. Scott & Karl Malden. I just checked the IMDb (www.imdb.com) and this is the plot summary they give: Character study of a Doctor who saves a local criminal from a mob who are trying to hang him, but then tries to control the life of the young man, realising that he can exploit his secret. This laid-back Western stars genre stalwart Gary Cooper as a doctor in a gold-mining camp, who devotes his time to treating blind girl Maria Schell. Unfortunately, however, the doctor has a rather sinister past which may place his patient in considerable danger. I just checked Amazon and they have 11 used & new from $35.00. Ebay also has a few copies up for auction.
